LeBron James

such a silly argument to make...it's a team sport...you win when you have the best team available!

So if someone argues that Robert Horry's 7 rings make him a better player than Kobe because of his 5, then I'm sure that's not a silly argument...

by the same logic, 3 of shaq's rings are kobe's.

ahhh logic.....it's a funny thing....and to X-Clown, I wasn't saying just because he has more rings he is a better player.....I was simply showing how foolish it was for PSC to say Kobe has more losses in the first round of the playoffs then Lebron.....

I know, nobody ever talks about Pippens rings. :|

You guys wanna trash Lebron because he hasn't won a ring yet even though Kobe's been in the league 10 years longer and had the best center in the league at the time holding his hand for the first 5 years.

But when Kobe was the only legit player on that squad, how many rings did he bring home?

The same amount Lebron has.

Did you know in 2005, 2006, and 2007 the Clippers were better than the Lakers? I wonder who their team was built around those years. :D

It was only 2 years and it was by 2 games one year and 3 games the other year. Not to mention there was no one on those teams and no Phil. I think those years are what humbled Kobe and made him realize he can't do it all on his own.

Phil wasnt there in 05. The Lakers missed the playoffs for the first time in like 10 years. He was there in 06 and 07, both 1st round exits. The Clippers being better than the Lakers is not supposed to happen EVER. What humbled Kobe was seeing LeBron in the NBA Finals in 2006. Everybody forgot about him crying to Stephen A Smith on the radio during that Finals about wanting to be traded and throwing everyone from Bynum to the Lakers GM under the bus. He couldnt handle the fact the young James at only 22 was on the big stage, while he "the heir to Jordan" couldnt get past Raja Bell and Phoenix. Yall dont remember Kobe almost being traded to the Bulls and the Mavs? The league did not want one of its biggest stars to leave the 2nd biggest market in the NBA and one of its more storied franchises. Enter the Pau Gasol trade a year later. Without that lopsided deal, we're still up here talking about Kobe not winning without Shaq and his fans are still bragging about 81 point games. The rest is REVISED history. :D

Ok. I thought Phil was gone for 2 years. My bad. Clippers were still only better for 2 years. It happens when you're rebuilding. There wasn't poo on the Lakers and i doubt Kobe became humbled by Lebron getting swept in the Playoffs. Look at the team he had when they got beat by the Suns. It was pretty bad. The Lakers were up 3-1 and Kobe was killing it in that series but just like Lebron, one player is not enough and the Suns came back. So, just like Lebron now, Kobe was frustrated and wanted more people around him. So he went to the media. Everyone needs help. Lebron needs help Kobe needs help. Lebron has posted the best record in the East how many times? With nothing but early exits to show for it. This year the Cavs get Shaq and all i hear from Cavs fans is how they now have their Howard stopper to get them past the Magic. Then midway through the year they get their 2nd scorer that Lebron has so desperately needed in Antwan. Even i bought into the hype. Then as soon as they get bounced everyone back pedals and says how they're to old and Antwan really isn't that good. If it's not one excuse it's another.

    • I always get lectured every year when we inevitably win some meaningless late season games to tank our draft position that we're building culture and you always have to try to win no matter what. This is why that's bullshit. Once you're out of contention it's to your competitive advantage to LOSE.
    • You’re tripping I hear what you’re saying but you’re not thinking of the benefits that trade gives us. We can then move around in the second round or late in the first to grab a specific player we covet like M Starks late in the 1st. Let me clarify if we’re at 21 we grab W Nolen or K Grant then trade up late in the 1 or early in the second giving up next years second for M Starks or T Amos there so much that can happen with that additional ammo.  Allowing us still so much leverage in next years draft as well with two first rounders we’d be dam crazy not to take a trade like that it’s not the big haul or heavy amount of picks we’re hoping for but it’s gets us multiple players especially ones we’ve seemed to taken a liking to like Nolen etc along with the safety from SC. or even a Luther B or James P early in the second. This nice influx in talent would help way more than a player like Jalon W. because of his high bust rate or probability  to bust….you know what I mean.  We need players we all know that those extra picks allow us to give up something this year to add key pieces from the 29-40 range that we may really like and have a need for (T Amos) and it not hurt as much because we’re stacked in round one of 26. Which could also be a pick one trade one scenario next year giving us more ammo to manipulate the draft to a winning situation for us long term. Al that to say we desperately need to be actively seeking a trade because we could add real talent in multiple spots this year and next with that current trade your opposing.
    • According to their list, the top guy hasn't put out a mock yet and the 2nd guy has us trading to 4 for Carter.
