The current Hornets are the worst ran organization in all of sports. Jordan has absolutely no business owning a team

He has no business running one. Anyone can own a team well.

James Dolan is the worst owner in the NBA and maybe all of professional sports.

It's the Hornets by a country mile.

Say what you will about the Jerry years but we still managed to make it to two super bowls.

The Hornets have managed to leave the city, come back as the bobcats and then get the hornets brand back only to continue to suck.

Great question OP. I do think you left the worst owners off your list.

Shinn, if you were around CLT for that debacle, then it’s hard not to pick him. I wasn’t around for him, but when you move a team out Charlotte, you are trash.

I was around for the Bob Johnson days. He may be able to rival Shinn as one who had the worst relationship with the city. Dude was super cheap and an even worse businessman.

Jordan, while a lot of people want to hang him out to dry, I am not ready to label him a bust just yet.  His problem is he needs to stop surrounding himself with yes men and bring in people to run his team who know the business side.

Tepper is too new to make any judgments on yet.  He has made great strides in his first year however.

Richardson was happy being the face of cheap ownership. He was a good owner in the 90’s, but ultimately didn’t allow his organization to change its culture as time went on. He was too old school and should have sold out 10 years earlier. He brought us 2x NFC championships and a few HOF players which the guys above never did.

This is just sad. Charlotte just added another shitty contract for 3 years. As if they need more bad contracts. Charlotte doesn't deserve this team. Whoever thought the greatest player ever would be the worst owner ever? He needs to sell the team to a owner who knows how to run a team. MJ doesn't know basketball talent sadly.

If you saw his decisions in Washington as a Director of Basketball Operations and his decisions in essentially the same role here prior to being a majority owner, it wouldn't be that hard to fathom. He is as bad of a talent evaluator as he was as great of a player.

I chose JR/Hurney but it’s pretty freaking close. At least JR’s teams made the SB twice, the Hornets have been irrelevant forever. And instead of tanking and rebuilding with top draft picks Jordan will continue allowing his GM to sign average at best players so they can continue battling for an 8th seed and drafting in the middle of the 1st

My point is Jordan has tried to execute a tank strategy once and it was a failure -- it's illogical to think he could produce a successful outcome if he tries it again.  I don't think he will try it because the financial implications are very severe and he doesn't have the funding needed to weather a full-on tank strategy.

The Hornets lost a ton of season ticket holders and corporate sponsors the last time, and the only thing they got to show for it was Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, a wholly forgettable tweener with no offensive skill at all. When incompetence meets ambition, you get the Hornets. Striving to not be the worst but still being the worst.

All of that aside, I think Rozier will be our best player this year.
