You must not understand how the NBA works. If youre a small market team your only hope of being a title contender is lucking into a superstar in the draft and building around him like the Bucks with Giannis or the Cavs with Lebron. You arent getting the big time free agents. If you think the Hornets should have given $35 million a year to a guy who at best is leading them to an 8 seed and in the process handicapping your whole salary cap for the next 5 years you are tripping. If the Hornets really do wanna win a title one day the best thing they can do is start tanking and not sign any players that arent superstars to multi year deals. Im not a Hornets fan and I know Hornets fans are attached to the best player in team history but they were never winning anything as long as he was the face of the team and this at least lets them rip the band aid off and try to build a contender the right way when youre a small market team

I don't see how the Hornets are going to last that long. Wouldn't be surprised to see the franchise move out of state again.

Michael Jordan was a great basketball player. He is a horrible executive, really, criminally incompetent. He may be the worst judge of talent in NBA history, with the possible exception of the New York Knicks front office.

Deal isn’t that bad for Rozier. 

Its going to be 2 to 3 years of tanking anyways. Might as well try to develop Rozier a bit, and if he’s good, great, if not, you can easily unload him with that contract.

And hes 24 and Kemba is 29. And he costs about half as much

I'm just a casual hornets fan, and I knew Kemba was gonna walk before the season ended, how are people shocked at this? we just don't have the cap and he'd be a idiot to not make the money that he can make.
