Who will have more wins this season the Panthers or the Hornets?

Meanwhile Jeremy Lamb just signed for HALF of that with Indiana

We had three shooting guards and one point guard.  Devonte Graham couldn’t play every minute of every game so they took a shot with a guy who put Celtics on his back in the playoffs a year ago.

I say this as a non fan of the Hornets.

While I don’t think the Hornet organization is all that, i think why you have to overpay and why you don’t have people rushing to play for the Hornets is players don’t really want to play in Charlotte. I think that has more to do with why you must overpay.

I've heard other folks say something along these lines.  Why do think that is?  i'm not sure i agree or disagree?  I know it's a tough sell right now to get a quality free agent to sign here.  Players personal preferences are Some players have West Coast preference, others what to be in a major city, some are looking at the $ first and foremost, others want to win/compete, etc. but how is it any different than the Panthers?  If the organization is well run and the team has a chance to win, players will want to go there, where ever that is.  The problem for the hornets (and other small market teams) is that you have to draft well, build some momentum and then you can fill in with a couple of higher profile free agents that want to win.  The Hornets have drafted horribly, have poorly managed the cap and here we are.

The problem with the NBA is you can have the worst record and still not get a top 5 pick. In football the record determines everything. In basketball you get a lottery pick which could be high or low. It makes it harder to build through the draft.

Look at Milwaukee small market team very similar to Charlotte difference is they had solid drafts with mid 1st round picks and good trades.  If they can do it we can do it.

They went from a 15 win season to 60 in a few years. The Hornets could do the same just copy the Bucs.. lol

It's that easy right?

I honestly haven’t felt much of anything, re: Hornets since the Paul Silas era. I’m too much of an NFL sociopath to find interest in many other sports.

I will say: Jordan is at the helm of a complete and total shitshow, producing little reason for hope in the near future. I feel bad for fans who love the Hornets.

Panthers will double the win % of their NBA uptown neighbors.

It's important to remember that this has always been the Bobcats when you get down to it. Those Hornets you knew left town long ago. The change back to the Hornets name and rights alone couldn't erase the effortlessly horrific mismanagement over the years which apparently somehow remains unchanged through two different owners. Kemba Walker did everything he could to shoulder the burden of the neverending failures of the front office.

MJ can’t afford a season of no one in the arena. He wants to tank but financially he can’t do it. He will screw up the tank job (or the nba will change the rules fuging up the Hornets chance of getting a franchise player again) by signing a fringe player giving them some wins

Tanking isn't even a viable strategy anymore under the new lottery rules. The worst teams had up to a 25% chance at winning it before and now the bottom five teams all get 10-14% odds. Charlotte had bad luck even with the old odds.
