Rebuild is not a word I want to hear

When we let the albotross go (Peppers) we will have some options, the decision to franchise him is why we are in the situation. 17% of your cap to one guy will cripple any team. Hell he makes more than Peyton Manning. We have made some really bad decisions with extensions and restructuring contracts. What are we left with? 5 incapable QB's and no first round pick.

for the most part it has been mccoy for much of his time here but mccoy really didn't do much with him.

this year they got someone who actually knows how to work with QBs but the problem that a lot of people say is that he got fed too much information and is now thinking about what he is doing too much.

i don't know. i think the problems have more to do with jake just being past his prime/usefulness than anything.

not a result of QB coach issues. more has to do with where his head is, where his throws are going, and what he's being asked to do by an inept group of playcallers.

Just want to build on this.

McCoy would have been good to have right now as the whole passing ideology would be much much simpler.

Jake is obviously starting to doubt himself with throws and this is causing him to be hesitant and throw late/early/not at all. He also is not making decisions based on what the defense is giving him. This is all being compounded by his new teachers attention to mechanics. Now we have a QB who is already doubting if he should throw the ball and is also having to go through baby steps to follow his teachers principles. What it creates is a QB who has far too much going on in his head when he should be clear minded. You can see it in him as he is trying to make sure everything is right and then he throws the ball.

Rip's method is great for young QBs and QBs not starting. It is VERY hard to adopt new mechanics, techniques and methods when you have been playing for 11 pro years AND are starting every week. There is just too much to absorb and you are not allowed to learn at your own pace. I would guess we would see more progress from Moore, Feely and McCown than Delhomme, simply because they are being allowed to learn in their own place and under no pressure.

McCoy would be the opposite. Good for Delhomme as he would get all things out of Delhommes head and although it will not be pretty, he will have less to focus on. Problem is we will likely see less improvement in those on the sideline.
