3:42 are you crazy

Highly inaccurate? The ball was dead on Funchess hands, he just can't catch. You think a prime Steve Smith would have dropped that? poo DJ wouldn't even dropped that. Yeah he had to fall to get but it aint all the QB job to do everything. They need help too. This is why people say we have no receivers. Funchess another Gettleman fail here.

There isn't a whole lot to argue with PFF about in this video. Much of this we've covered quite extensively, particularly footwork. Besides the fact that Funchess has a laundry list of crucial drops. Even when Cam would put it right on the money for Devin, it was still a 50/50 ball most times.

But in terms of simply assessing the status of Newton's game currently, making declarations while only looking back on 1 out of 16 games, which we lost, that to me doesn't seem like a very good way to go about evaluating. You could make even the best QB's look like poo under that scenario.

There’s a lot about his game that’s hard to understand. Some of it’s impossible to understand. And that’s fine. It’s OK not to feel the need to micro-quantify everything.

He’s a very dynamic individual, with a rare skill set hampered by occasional deficiencies. He’s a first down machine, extending drives more frequently than just about any player of his era. He’s got a rifle for an arm—when healthy—particularly in short windows.

Those are all obvious takes, but there’s not a whole lot more to it. It takes 11 on every play to make it go.

    • It isn't a two year process from where we have torn down to. That's the problem. We could fuging destroy the next two drafts and free agency periods and we might improve to maybe .500 football. This is literally why I said we should have never torn down this franchise. Now you have to completely build culture and you have to replace about 85% of the roster with NFL capable players. That is NOT a 2 year building process. It's years. YEARS.
    • It fairly obvious that Evero needs to go. Honestly, the development of Canales is more important than the development of Bryce Young for this franchise.
    • You are literally describing a 7th round special teams guy, not a 2nd rounder. That's the problem. Sure, if he was actually a sure handed WR. The truth is that he isn't that yet. Remember, he isn't some 21 year old. He's about half a year younger than TMJ. We can't afford for him to take 3-4 years to figure this out.  If you wanted a QB's best friend and just HAD to trade up, go get a Brian Thomas. That's an effective and pro ready WR. Or how about a guy that went after XL? McConkley who consistently is able to get open and even catch the ball with his actual hands!!!
