I will spread the word.  Side note, sites should really not block sites when it comes to emergencies like this.  It is extremely poor taste in my book for The Herald to block my ability to read the information about a missing person because I am not subscribed to The Herald.

This. Someone should copy and paste the relevant info.

I have learned to use a site called Outline.

Rod Smart Story

These two statements do not jive:

“We are conducting an active search for Mr. Smart,” Barfield said. “This is a missing person. There is nothing nefarious about this.”

Lancaster deputies posted a Facebook message that described Smart as a “missing endangered person” and said it’s unusual for Smart to be out of touch this long.

Also, the fact that there are evidently federal agencies assisting. This is weird.

I saw that too, but I didn't want to focus on the grim side of things.  Let's remain hopeful until we know more.  It isn't going to cost us anything to be optimistic, and I know his family and friends are hoping for the best.  We know the reality of these situations, but let's not face them until we have to.

Ive got a bit of background in 911 dispatch, and that should read "missing/endangered person".

The protocols for a missing person are very close to the protocols for an endangered person.

Endangered persons: Folks who require daily meds, juveniles, elderly, and handicapped.

Hope this helps.

Gives us some positive insight.  Always welcome.  Thank you.  A simple typo can mean all the difference.

Understood. However, six days doesn't seem to bode well.

Unfortunately it goes 1 of 2 ways, either they call 15 minutes after they last saw the person or days weeks even months later.

I had a call from a female who hadn't been able to find her father.  Turns out she hadn't seen him in a year.  He passed away in that time.
