June 16th NCFans mock

1. Pelicans: Zion- is there any question?

2. Memphis: Ja Morant- again, any question about the pick?
3. Knicks: RJ Barrett- they tried hard to shop for AD but fail.

4. Pelicans:Deandre Hunter- Hunter is just a real good 3 and D wing. Which should pair well with the Ball/Holliday

5. Cavs: Jarrett Culver- pairing Culver with Sexton gives them a promising young backcourt

6. Suns: Darius Garland- Suns need a PG there's no question. And Garland is the 2nd best PG behind Morant in this draft

7. Bulls: Coby White- Bulls need a PG and they grab their guy

8. Hawks: Jaxson Hayes- they need a Center bad, as does Washington. If the Hawks dont grab him here they wont get him at 10

9. Wizard: Cam Reddish- they didnt get their Center so they just need talent. And Reddish is that guy

10. Hawks: Sekou Doumbouya- long versatile wing fitting in nicely with the hawks young team

11. Minnesota: Brandon Clarke- Wolves seem to like the pair Clarke with KAT down low.

12. Hornets: Nassir Little- some people arent going to be happy about this pick. But Kup specifically mentioned how important to have athletic wings with size. And mentioned trying to move up (as in there is only a certain amount of guys he sees in this draft he really likes). Unable to move up, he grabs one of the last "wings" he likes.

13. Miami: Rui Hachimura

14. Boston: Goga Bitadze- Al Horford isnt getting younger and his contract is coming up. Goga gives them a young guy to groom with this young core

15. Detroit: Kevin Porter Jr- they take the risk here. They just need something. Porter is a top 10 talent just has had some off the court issues

16. Orlando: Nickell Alexander Walker- can play on or off the ball and some thjnk he could end up grooming into a PG

17. Atlanta: Tyler Herro- fast rising name. Can really shoot the ball. Hawks drooling over the idea of the idea of him and Trae Young in the back court.

18. Indiana: Romeo Langford- Victor plays more at the SG but can handle the ball. Langford is just too good a talent to pass up here. Local kid too

19. San Antonio: PJ Washington- PF who can shoot. Spurs have invested a lot in young guards. Adding Washington is a good fit here

20. Boston: Cam Johnson- again its becoming more of a small ball league. And the Celtics really love to play it. Johnson comes right in and competes with Gordan Hayward at that 4 spot, after Hayward didnt have a great season last year.

21. OKC: Ty Jerome- some are shocked he goes this high. But OKC really needs a shooter. Jerome brings that outside shooting and feisty D, and fits perfectly between Westbrook and Paul George. UVA has produced some Real good guys at that position lately.

22. Boston: Bol Bol- another big? Bol is a Huge boom bust guy. He has major red flags with his injuries and size/bulk. Boston is a perfect situation for them to bring in slow, let him redshirt and groom a bit behind those other guys until ready.

23. Utah: Keldon Johnson- Utah gets lucky he falls this far. Good talent to pair with Mitchell.

24. Philly: Dylan Windler- Good size at 6'8 and a great shooter. Philly expects to lose Butler and may lose Reddick.

25. Portland: KZ Okpala- kid has a REAL high upside but still is raw. Tall athletic wing who can play the 3 or 4.

26. Cleveland: Grant Williams- smart physical undersized PF. Cleveland gladly will take any help they can.

27. Nets: Bruno Fernando

28. Golden State: Luguentz Dort

29. Spurs: Matisse Thybulle

30. Milwaukee: Nicolas Claxton-
Project big with upside.

Something weird will obviously happen, but can't disagree with really any of your lottery picks.

People will complain about the Little pick, but honestly it's what Charlotte might need to do.  He's oozing with potential, was a Top 3 pick in mocks last year, and if he can develop a better 3pt shot he could be pretty good. To me at his worst he's the MKG replacement, and if the offense develops he's a steal.

I am very hesitant to draft more UNC players. This isn't the Dean years when they were the go-to for NBA talent. They have put a lot of bust NBA players out while Roy has been there(similar to his time at Kansas). Little is a high ceiling, extremely low floor pick and we have traditionally fared pretty poorly on those guys.

But, on the other hand, it isn't like we have much to lose picking at 12. We could do a lot worse from a pure potential standpoint.

The more I consider Little the more I wonder if he isn’t just like MKG but not as good defensively.  I would look elsewhere to be honest.

If there is one thing I have complete faith in, it's that whatever the choices are at 12 that the Bobnets will find a way to make the wrong one.

I think Little will have more success in the NBA than he did at UNC. I totally understand why fans would not want him, but I personally think his frame, athleticism and defensive upside will allow him to have a long productive career. His shot isn't "broken", but needs work and if he can figure it out then sky is the limit.

Difference is, Little has at least shown the ability to shoot and handle the ball. Thus the reason he blew up towards the end of his high school year.

His shooting form isnt jacked up and really needing work like MKG.

He has that dawg in him that you never really saw with MKG either.

Id be fine with Little At 12.  But there are definitely a few others I like better in this draft.  The way my mock fell, those guys were off the board.

*note one guy that is intriguing me.  If Kup moves up a few spots is that frenchman.  The more and more I look into him

    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
    • The bottom lines to me are that a) we played well enough to beat the best team in the league and b) Bryce Young is growing into a bridge QB role (his ceiling) for us. As much as I don't want BY around after the season, it seems DC can still build the O with a game manager at QB for now. Best case scanario, we can build the D through the draft this year and take a QB we have conviction outside the 1st this or next draft. If BY keeps improving, we are going to win a couple more games this year.
    • Bryce has been a completely different QB since coming back. That started in Denver where it was obviously he was playing a lot more loose and willing to push the ball downfield  Bryce continues to build off of the previous weeks performance and that’s what you want to see Bryce has been making some real good anticipation throws. Reading defenses well. Pushing the ball downfield (7 throws of 20+ air yards yesterday. 8 if you want to include PI to Thielen). The deep ball accuracy has been there. Some of Young’s best throws yesterday were incompletions. Sideline balls to XL and Moore both should’ve been caught. RZ dot to Tremble should’ve been caught. And another RZ ball to Moore that Young gave him a chance at. Bryce is starting to execute Canales offense and yesterday Canales finally opened it up a bit. Canales was to blame for the 126 passing yards in Germany as he played a more conservative game.  The next bit I’m looking for his for Young to be a bit more decisive with running the ball. Start putting that on film and it’ll help open things up a tad
