Lakers making Kemba #1 target

Passing on a good player b/c of his Dad seems very short-sighted.

He's a good enough athlete to be the #2 pick and start 95 of the 99 NBA games he's played in so athleticism isn't really a concern.

Sprained ankles are kind of random and he's had some bad luck there, I suspect over time his durability will improve.

Lonzo shoots it just fine and if there's one thing I am certain of it's that his Dad won't let anyone meddle with his stroke like what happened with MKG --- that was a terrible idea.  Lonzo does need to clean it up from the FT though, that's for sure.

I love watching the guy play and have enjoyed doing so since the day he showed up at UCLA.

New Orleans has a chance to be VERY good right now, going to be interesting to watch.

Again not just because his dad.

Athleticism isnt the reason why he was drafted #2. He was tall and could pass the ball.  They said all along even draft day that his athletic ability was a concern

Lonzo doesnt shoot just fine, he is avg at best shooter, and yes his dad wont let him meddle with the shot which isnt Necessarily a good thing.  The way he shoots it isnt going to fly in this league unless he's wide azz open

Just a bunch of sprained ankles isnt just bad luck.  You sprain them enough it your more prone to get them.  The kid isnt "just missing that many games because bad luck"

You are certainly entitled to your opinion.

Curious, where do you think would have been a proper place to draft him?  2nd round?  Lower?

About 6th or 7th in that draft class.

Had it not been the LA Lakers drafting at #2, he wouodnt have gone there

Gotcha.  So still a lottery pick despite being nonathletic, injury prone, and unable to shoot (not to mention a really shitty Dad).  Nice work if you can get it!

I love watching the guy play basketball.

I enjoy his game too.  He seems to have really good natural instincts, and vision for the game.  Love watching those floor general type pg's.  Definitely needs to improve the outside shot to make it a little more respectable for others to defend.  Overall I think he's a really good floor general that's gonna need a lot of shooters and guys that can get up and down to be really effective.  He's a ball dominator so it was a bad fit with Bron I think for sure.

I think he stays for 5 years/200 mill.

I think this is the most likely outcome.

The way it's looking now, the Lakers won't be able to offer him a max deal.  As much as Kemba wants to win, there's no way he's giving the Lakers a big enough discount to make that work.

I think Kemba is cut from the same cloth as Lillard, Giannis, and others before his time. I think he stays for 5 years/200 mill.

If we pay Kemba Walker that much money then we are the most retarded organization in sports. Well we already know that to be true
