but when you are used to hearing corporate speak from the front office that would have been archaic 30 years ago, this is refreshing.

:100_Emoji_42x42: Or even hearing nothing at all. It is refreshing to have an owner who becomes involved in ways outside of football too. Financial aid to Hurricane Florence victims in North an South Carolina with specific goals instead of simply throwing money at it. https://www.wfmynews2.com/article/sports/david-tepper-carolina-panthers-aid-florence-victims-with-relief-package/83-596692169

And remember this?

The days of hypocritical, southern genteelness amid an air of dictatorial paternalism are done. A long-awaited renewal and rebirth of the franchise, complete with modern ideas, transparency, openness and genuine inclusiveness of women and men of all colors and creeds is afoot.

It's about time!

It was a mistake not firing Herniay once he bought the team. Now it's looking like a great move, we'll see once the season is over cause I sure do feel this was the best overall off-season in panther history. And boy did they need it!

Seemed like Jerry was happy with just being a “good ol boy” and everything that came with it. The moves he demanded and was ok letting Hurney make shows a person who wasn’t dedicated to winning. Did an awesome thing by getting a team in Charlotte but didn’t do much else.

Really am glad we finally have an owner who is hell bent on winning SB’s

    • Yeah and he succeeded at an even higher level in LA with an even better surrounding cast. Goff is a guy that isn't really able to dramatically elevate players around him but he can make a good situation even better. He is capable of that. Some QB's aren't. I am not sure Dak is able to do that and he is in a similar "class" as Goff, IMO.
    • i think i could handle that for a year. beyond that....i don't know.  back where we lived, when we had a few inches of snow, it might have been a couple feet because we weren't getting out and doing anything. i remember times where power would go out for days on end. we had propane and electric heat, depending on the floor. basement (had a couple bedrooms and a living room and kitchen down there) and main floor had gas logs. main floor gas logs was enough to take care of the upstairs, so we could stay warm and cook on the grill when we needed. we had a well so that was always an issue when the power went out. had to make sure tubs were filled with water for the toilets and we had gallons of water for drinking and cooking available. always had to make sure we were ready. that wasn't always the case. we had a couple moments where we were going through propane quickly and because we were dealing with the worst propane company in the world (amerigas) they wouldn't get out to put gas in our 900 gallon tank. made for some nerve racking moments.  i know y'all were probably a lot more able to handle that kind of thing, but after the little bit (comparatively) that we got here i just have no desire to get trapped again. maybe for a day or two a year get snowed in and i'm good.
    • I think he is just drawing a DC to them line and that's about as far as his thought process went. It makes almost no sense outside of that. Also, it doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh or Seattle at this juncture either.  I think our "veteran" pool is basically gonna be the Dalton/Flacco tier or the "pick your poison" options of young busts(Jones/Z. Wilson) or wild, TO prone gunslingers(Darnold/Winston/etc). We have the option to pursue I genuinely believe(depending on the way the rest of this season goes), we either draft a QB in the top 10 or resign Dalton. Outlier third option on taking one of the wild gunslingers that Dave feels like he can work with.
