McCoy is a Panther

Recommended Posts

Man, love the signing. Instant 5 sacks!!!

I'm sick of reading KK is garbage, Poe is trash. If we cut them, who will replace them? What other solid, above average, pro bowl caliber DT's are avail? None, no one wanted Suh until the Bucs had to have a replacement. If McCoy was a free agent from the beginning of the off season, do you think he'd be avail at this point, no.

PFF ranked KK 17th, Poe 66th (and he played OOP) and McCoy 28th. If KK is trash,we might as well get rid of the whole DL

It's a solid signing indeed. I would've liked him here with our 3-tech (Rankins) missing the beginning of the year with that achilles, but we weren't going to pay $8.5M for it. It should be a fun match-up like always though. Brees and McCoy also train together during the offseason so they're well-acquainted.

Jameis and Matt, yeah. Likely not Drew.

In 15 games against us, he's only got 2.5 sacks. That's an average of 1 sack every 6 games (or 3 years). He hasn't sacked Brees since Week 2 of 2015. Short hasn't gotten to Brees since Week 13 of 2015 either.

McCoy (2.5), Short (3.0), and Poe (1.0) have a combined 6.5 sacks on Brees in 33 games. Averages out to about 1 sack every 5 games.

More like when he sees that secondary still isn't fixed...

Nah, that's Matt Ryan still hitting smelling salts on the way home from the game considering he's been sacked by McCoy 5 times with an additional 20 hits in 14 games. They better hope double dipping on the OL actually pays off and they better not have whiffed on those picks.

Your taking stats that actually aren’t accurate to this situation name a probowl DT that McCoy played next to? Or name a pro bowl DT that player directly next to KK the last four years for either? Now 93 is towards the end if his career but I consider him probowl level to this day so with that taken into consideration don’t come with meaningless stats it doesn’t paint the real picture. And honestly if they push the pocket cause havoc force bad throws or our ends and backers make the play all game cool with me. A DT’s impact goes way beyond sacks stop being a slow saints fan you sound like you don’t really watch football just check the box score and stat sheet then come to the barbershop arguing he didn’t even have a sack disregarding three pressures that lead to three picks but keep stat chatting

Hurney really nailed this one. The entire Panthers team made this happen. Players, coaches and of course the GM.

I don't know what Cleveland or Baltimore did but when key members of the team greet you and take you out to lunch. That shows it is more than a business deal.

Many can question Rivera HC skills but he is a quality defensive mind and McCoy must have been intrigued with our hybrid defensive scheme.

And the cream on the pie. Disrespectful Bucs for giving his number to his replacement.  That may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

I'm stoked. The  3-4 and 4-3 schemes and the variety of players to fill those roles  Our defense have enough solid players to rotate and stay fresh.

Cam will be back to 100% health along with a solid online and good weapons all over.  Maybe 2015 revisited with a better outcome.

Go Panthers
