Coleman wants to come back

I'm about ready to get to the point where we don't need one of our safeties to have one foot in the retirement home looking for a swan song here.

that keeps happening because the decision makers in the organization don't value the saftey position in general. That's why we rarely ever draft one and when we do, its usually a low round player or some kind of project like Gaulden.

Which is also why we get burned deep every year by our divisional rivals , because of our piss poor safety coverage through the air.

Its kinda simular to how our oline has been for most of the recent years, its been bad on the perimeter because before Moton and Little, the team barely put any effort in investing high draft capital in the Oline and Cam/the team ended up paying for it in several seasons. Especially reared its ugly head in SB50 with Remmers getting abused by Von Miller.

I'd say the lack of production by the front 7 lately has had more to do with that than anything.  Even all pro safeties are going to get burnt if they have to sit back there forever in coverage.

ld be all for this on a vet minimum type of deal, only if Ron Rivera wasn't the coach. Say one of the young no-name safety is playing great, but Rivera would play Coleman over him cause that's what he has always done.  Besides a HUGE drawback to Coleman is open field tackling, with the switch to 3-4 the safeties will be in more one-on-one situations.

He was good in 2015 when we still had J Norman to help him out. After that, he was terrible in pass coverage. Bad in 2016, but absolutely horrendous at both tackling and pass coverage in 2017. Don't want him back at all.

Coleman is a big reason the NFC South had been shredding us deep in 2016 and 2017.

I don't think Adams was great at coverage either, neither is Reid. We simply don't have a ball hawking , true FS. The top brass has ignored many a FS prospect in several recent drafts, we're just reaping the results of not taking the position seriously.

When your pass rush takes 10 seconds to sniff the qb your safeties are going to look like trash... I don’t care who you have back there
