Love will sub one of those. Don't forget we won't be exclusively 3-4. In nickel there will be 4 linemen. 2 of the ends in this alignment will be burns/addison/irvin/haynes

True, true. Im maybe too ocd on depth charts. Can only have so many d lineman on the 53. I guess the Cox could be a potential answer there as well if someone goes down.  Just seems like if one were to get hurt it would limit our ability to use that front as much

Yeah, i see that but i watched a video that Cower did and it seemed like you need run stuffers there.

You don't think our guys can stuff the run?

Athleticism, communication and understanding the concepts are the main things.

I do understand your concerns, but my current and main concern regarding the 3-4 (from listening to the vid would be the safety positions, and probably the FS position the most.

Yeah, i guess im so used to watching bama, that i have a fixed vision in my head of what a DE in a 3-4 looks like. Agree the safety needs more attention.

If we do somehow get him that still leaves us with depth issues at the 3 in the 3-4.

NT- poe and butler

DE- kk

DE- mccoy

Who are the backups for the two de positions in that front? Is kyle love a DE in that front? Serious question, not trying to be a wet blanket.

I have absolutely no issue with the thread title. As a matter of fact, I love it.

So I’m confused.  How does adding a starter as a 3-4 DE still leave us short?   Love is one rotational DE.  Butler could do it on occasion.  But from a depth piece look for Destiny Vaeao or Qualls.  That is what today’s NFL is.  Your not gonna have starters 7 people deep.

But calling the possible best line in the nfl concerning?  Having those starters with Love and Butler rotating in is nothing to be concerned about.  Look at other teams.  Your head would fall off.

Thats a good retort. Maybe im being paranoid. My thought was just that our starters would kick ass, but one injury could derail us. Guess thats true for most teams though. Seems like there would be a hell of a steep drop off though, which would limit us in using that front.
