Lord No. Reid just signed and would have to seriously regress to even think about cutting him even next year. Or the year after. 

  Since they let 2.5M of Poe’s base salary become guaranteed. There isn’t much benefit to cutting him now. 

  If Burns and Miller look good, I suppose Addison could save us 8M. 

 Since Shaqs money is guaranteed now, that’s about it.

For all the people complaining again and again about Torrey's 5 million, the sensible ones of us knew the only logical outcomes were cut or pay cut. 

I think it's a solid move. Probably could have waited until deeper into training cap or early preseason maybe, just in case we get some unexpected premier play from the end of depth chart wrs on the roster but hard to complain too much about $2 million (let's be real, Smith isn't hitting any incentive bonuses unless they're something really minimal like making the active roster in x number of games). We also haven't confirmed if his entire $2 million base salary is guaranteed. Typically base salaries aren't guaranteed. Hard to think there aren't some guarantees to entice him to take the cut but it's not inconceivable there could be little to no guarantees and Smith was just told he would be cut outright if he didn't agree to the pay cut.

If he can pull this off, Hurney certainly deserves a lot of kudos for this draft and free agency...

Pep and Ryan Kalil retired. TD wasnt resigned, and we had to deal with the steaming pile that was Matt Kalils contract and still having a massive hole at LT. Oh yeah and our franchise QB had to have a 2nd shoulder surgery and we had no proven backup. That was some hellacious headwinds going into the offseason. Certainly made it easy for people to question how the 2019 Panthers would and could do.

Hurney started off signing Irvin and Paradis as the direct replacements for Pep and R Kalil. Resigned Reid at a good value. Drafted Burns and Little to address pass rush and LT. Resigned Darryl Williams which gives us another viable option at tackle. Drafted Grier at the end of the 3rd round which was a great value even if people wanted safety which gives us a proven college QB to develop. Signed Hogan and Robinson as low risk WR with some upside. Got Torrey to take a pay cut.

Was a good offseason even before this, but signing McCoy would be a coup and would put this as one of the best offseasons in Panthers history.

I dont think anything could match the 2003 offseason (drafting Gross, signing Delhomme, Stephen Davis, and Proehl), but this would be good.

Can only hope it could lead to the same results as 2003

it all started with me on page 11 of 11 on the gerald mccoy thread Report: Panthers interested in Mccoy thread. Gerald had only visited Ravens n Browns. I make note of page 11 of 11 and wish Mccoy would visit Carolina.  Not long after, the first report of Mccoy breaks that hes visiting Carolina.

11:11 is interesting my initial post was a shot in the dark mostly as a joke to get Mccoy here lol  I would not let the new age and huffy fluff about 11:11 turn you off of the synchronicity therory that Carl Jung proposed.  Im 100% a Carl Jung fan
