Torrey takes pay cut

I don't like it as much as I would've like just cutting Torrey and saved $5M instead of $2M. Torrey is bringing nothing to the table, nothing. But if we can get McCoy that's great.

I disagree.  God forbid but if Moore or Samuel go down, then what?  Torrey was a productive starter for quite a while.  He made an incredible play to help win the Eagles game, and burnt J-No up and down the field during the 2nd half of the Skins game.

Who would we sign that would be any better than Torrey @ $2M?  Just a couple of seasons ago we were depending on Kaelin Clay and Brentin Bersin in a playoff game...

Did everyone just forget about Hogan and Wright?

2M isn’t going to matter with McCoy. We have 10M now. Getting 7M more in a day or two. We had the money before this.

Agreed, but that $2M will come in handy to signing a FS, which I still believe is a given, whether it happens before camp or at final cuts.

They are going to give Gaulden every chance to win the job, but Hurney/Rivera are not arrogant or incompetent enough to not have a backup plan.  And there are still quite a few FS out there looking for work who are going to have to settle for close to the veteran minimum.

Then you play Wright and Hogan. Both better players than Smith(and Cheaper). And if he shouldn’t be playing over any of our top 4WRs(and can’t/won’t play STs) where is his value?

We already signed one WR better than him, for less. Are we keeping 6 WRs? Because we have to have one of them return punts.

Concerning the WR Corp, even before this, I think Moore, Samuel, Wright, and Smith were the locks.  Hogan is probably a lock.

Terry Godwin was a 7th round draft pick who has shown some promise so far, and we signed Aldrick Robinson who has had some sneaky good numbers in limited time.

I think we keep 6 WR and barring injuries, it comes down to how Godwin/Robinson look in camp and preseason, and whether not we think we could sneak Godwin onto the PS

You're on the money about punt returns. If Smith stays, we'll have to keep a 6th for a returner. I doubt we cut Hogan.

Imagine if we have to cut someone like Obada to make room for a returner because we refuse to cut Smith.

There are no DB options that will cost more than 2M. As you stated. So we had that too. And 4.5M would have helped even more for any future move.
