i'm about as ignorant as they come as far as how NFL contracts/deals go, but nonetheless...hold my beer.

what difference does a day make in terms of his money being available? surely the contract signing doesn't hit the books immediately? plus i thought there was some sort of grace period that you just needed to be under the salary cap by the start of reg season? also they could just agree to terms now and then let the pen hit the paper tomorrow anyway?
