I'd honestly rather have Frank over any of the other Bigs on this roster..

WOW!!

Frank grew up around the championship Bulls teams because his family worked for the organization. It was ironic and probably a comfort level in being drafted by MJ's team. Frank just had to show he belongs and he's finally grown into his NBA game. He came in comfortable but has since been shaken to the core and has responded just in time..... contract time.

Everybody knew he had the potential, glad to see he's not wasting it.

If we do not keep Kemba, we could keep him on a cheap deal and try to develop him more. I have a feeling that Frank wants out of Charlotte though and he didn't want to be here to begin with. Just a feeling.

Why would anyone want to be here?

Charlotte is a great city from what I have been told and many athletes choose to live there. In other words some people/athletes would choose to stay in Charlotte. The basketball organization may suck, but if things were brighter then I could see athletes choosing to stay in Charlotte or to come to Charlotte. Just my 2 cents.

Never before had I heard about Tank's connection to the Bulls, quite interesting, thanks.

In the process of looking into it I came across this quote:

"Frank Kaminsky explained his decision to return to Wisconsin in a blog post Wednesday, writing that although it's always been his dream to play in the NBA, the pros can't match the excitement he expects to experience with the Badgers during his senior season.

"I am at the pinnacle of my basketball playing career, at least in my eyes. I know the NBA has their crazy fans and all, but if you look at all of their games, there are games when teams like the Bobcats get hardly any fans, and it looks flat out boring," he wrote.

The Badgers' Frank Kaminsky says that he is returning to Wisconsin because the NBA can't match the excitement he's experiencing in college. Robert Hanashiro/USA TODAY Sports

"At the Kohl Center, we play in front of nearly 17,000 fans every single time we step onto the court. When we travel, we play in front of sell out crowds who absolutely hate us. Not because of who is on the team, but because of where we go to school. Who could leave that?"

Seems to run completely counter to your thesis that there's a "comfort level" from being drafted by Mike Jordan.

Nobody wants to play for Mike.

Not really. He did mention the Bobcats but that is an NBA wide problem. The problems the Hornets are having isn't limited to just the Hornets.

What Frank said there applies to most big college athletics. College football often has crowds of 100,000+ and when they get to the NFL it's a different environment and the crowds are smaller.

In a city full of people who are going to work in the morning how does a Wednesday night game going to compete? It's not. Another problem for NBA mid market teams.

There's a lot of blame to go around for Bob, MJ AND Adam Silver but those comments have nothing to do with Mike.

Bob Johnson made a boneheaded and shortsighted move when he signed away the TV rights to cable TV. Hornets games used to be on local TV building the fan base daily/weekly.

WTF channel are the Hornets playing on if you've cut the cord like many have done. Don't even mention shady virus laden "free" internet sports sites.

Well duh. Unfortunately all the other bigs are under contract. Hornets priority #1 this offseason if Kemba stays is to convert Zeller, Biz, Batum, MKG, and/or Marvin to useful players. Because you can't have 80 million out of a 100 million cap do absolutely nothing.

If Kemba leaves, then Hornets need to convert Marvin, MKG, and Biz's expirings into larger unwanted contracts to pick up first round picks, and then when Zeller/Batum expire, have a roster of young talent and full cap space for the 2021 offseason.

Mitch has his work cut out for him
