Unfortunate. Need to use this series as a learning opportunity for the youth. You know what it takes to get here, now learn what it takes to make it all the way. This is an overachieving team and we all knew it back mid-April. The fact that they among the top 2 teams in the East at this point is impressive considering the first three months of the season.

Gonna be an interesting off-season to see who stays and who goes. A lot of movement with only the young core being valued highly, I'm thinking. If you're not playing top 9 minutes, you're either replaceable or you better be damn good at generating pressure.

Here's the thing. This team caught lightening in a bottle. I'm not so sure we have the pieces to make this run again next year. Or to make the Playoffs. Unless Andrei makes a Crosby like jump (doubtful).

I don't think that at all. Even the first few months we didn't look like a bad hockey team, we just had an issue with consistency throughout games. We found that consistency and really started generating good chemistry and started winning those tight games we routinely lost in the start of the season.

We will make the playoffs next year. Andrei is going to be great and I think an off-season to reflect and work on his puck skills a tad more will make him a force (he's already showing proficiency at making power moves towards the net, just not finishing them enough).

This is not just dumb luck. This team has been good since October but couldn't put it together until later in the year. This series is not indicative of this team's skill level. The fact that they're in the ECF is.

I hope you're right. But, I just don't see it. Aho fell the fug off the second half of the season. I want Andrei to be Crosby 2.0 so bad.

Dougie Hamilton can't be depended on, and Justin Williams might retire. It's going to be an interesting offseason. I'm hoping Dundon gets the checkbook out.

I want Turbo to take a step too. Just worried man. This team's young, but we've been young numerous times before.

Dougie played out of his mind with us. Not sure how he's unreliable.

Williams is likely done. Aho just seemed to be overthinking late in the year. Turbo seems to be taking the next step as of these playoffs. He played well all night but the whole team was frantic and unable to settle pucks most of the night.

Don't worry. This team is in good hands and will be fine moving forward.

Man, I cant even be mad.  They were just that much better than us.  The talent discrepancy was obvious from the get-go in this series.  Rask was fuging ridiculous and it just felt like they were bigger, faster, stronger, and better skilled than us.

All that being said, this was a great season and a springboard for the future.

Oh, and fug Boston/New England.

I don't think they were better. We lost all the momentum on the off days. As I stated in the previous series thread.

I definitely think that played a role, and I think we couldve scrapped out the series if the refs wouldn't have flattened our mojo in game 1, but once they got going it just felt like we were at their mercy.  They were seemingly everywhere.

He was garbage after game 4 of the Washington Series, Dougie was.

Again, I don't see it. I hope they prove me wrong and we jolt up the standings. Incredible showing by the fans though. fug this sucks.

    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
