Even when chaos happens in the Draft Lottery, we still get screwed with the 12th pick.

As compared to what other option? Never going to be good enough to win anything without elite talent. Not one top tier FA will sign here. Our draft history days we cannot find the gems that others seem to nail.

Man the NBA doesn't want us in the top slot even tanking.  We can't tank forever and  won't be getting the top pick anyway.  Whole damn league is rigged shet

Honestly, making the playoffs is about the best we can do right now.  Kup needs to pick a contributor and try to resign Kemba.  Looking very doubtful right now he comes back.

In what world do the Pelicans make that trade? Lol

The one where agencies, agents, and the commissioner step in to tell them it's the trade they're making...  just like they made NO trade CP3 to LAC instead of the Lakers.

Plus, if Zion says he's not playing for you, what choice do you have?  Kobe did it to us (which I also believe was influenced by the league) and players and their reps have much more power and leverage now than they did back then.

It's possible the league gave yall #1 to try to keep AD there, but I doubt it.  Zion didnt seem too excited about it, and with all the bad press surrounding LA and Kebron, the league is dying to fix it.

The Hornets have been burnt so many times. Could have got Shaq but got Zo.

We actually got lucky that year. Jumped up from #8 to #2.  Nobody in Charlotte was complaining about that.

Yup, was hoping for a Baron Davis- type jump into the top 3.  Still hoping the NBA pays us back for being good soldiers when they bent us over and gave the Pels AD and left us with #2, but nope...

But notice, LA and NY end up in the top 4, and NO has the assets to restock with or without AD.  With AD and/or KD rumored to LA and NY, all the major players are taken care of and the NBA fixes its biggest markets.

I'm thinking Zion pulls a Kobe and refuses to play in NO, and LA trades Ball, Kuzma, Hart, and Ingram + #4 for #1 (Zion) and AD.

The lottery literally makes me want to have nothing to do with the NBA.  This poo is fixed.

I don't think it's fixed. They would've just given NY the first pick if it was fixed.

They don’t make that trade, ever. They literally turned down more than that during the year just for AD. They swapping #1 for #4 for no reason? It’s not gonna happen.

I'm just throwing it out there...  there are more influencers and power brokers involved now than ever before.  If Zion threatens to go back to school for leverage, what does NO do?

Again, you could be right and they draft him, he accepts it and plays for you...  but, I dont out anything past the NBA at this point.

They dont have to be that obvious though...  what they did was a lot more subtle.  And NY is supposedly getting KD, so whether they picked 1 or 3 wasn't as big as restocking NO with the assets to incentivize them to move AD to LA.

ADs not going to LA. He’s just not. People talk like LA can offer so much, and they can offer a huge collection of poo players, but nothing of quality. The best asset they have is the 4th pick and even the Knicks have better than that at 3 and multiple firsts going forward. Knicks package is infinitely better than the Lakers. AD isn’t going to LA. That been obvious since the trade deadline.

Barring other-worldly miracles, franchises like the Hornets are destined to be mediocre at best.  The disparity in the NBA is absolutely shocking.  In any given year, there are no more than 3-4 teams you could make a realistic case for winning a championship.

    • They gave him franchise QB money. Sorry but if you don't earn it you can be embarrassed.   He's rich he can take it. Stop feeling sorry for people who can't live up to their contract. This isn't a sport to be soft. Daniels deserves to give back some of that money he stole if you ask me.
    • And it was coming off of a bye week. Perhaps he should vacation a bit in Germany in the off season, something certainly seemed to help him there.  No, really... He showed maturation and the possibility that he's turning a corner. That wasn't the NY Giants out there, but the back to back Super Bowl champions with the #3 defense in the league, with them coming off of a prime time loss. And that was a 9-1 team we just played literally down to the last second. Bryce played so well that maybe, maybe he wins over some nay-sayers. It's still early, though, but what a nice breath of fresh air that was. You can win quite a few games if that is your normal performance. It is obvious that we are still on the learning curve, though. But that was one helluva test he just took. Some of these QBs coming out of college just don't have a lot of games under their belts, especially in top end programs. They are perhaps just a year to two years behind center in games that matter before they move up. It can take them some time to hit their stride. We can still be cautious about our future and still celebrate a great game by the kid, though, and we should. He earned the laurels today, or had before they were snatched away at the last second.
