Kid ran a 4.71 40 and 6.88 3 cone at 246lbs.  6’5”.  .  He can move at least.  

I think they are looking for another receiving TE in case Olsen’s foot doesn’t hold up.  High recurring issue with that injury.

That would take a new contract, hes making close to 8mill for this year only. Id personally rather roll with 500k Thomas this year and the year after and the year after. I see him getting cut, that salary is high and its a big issue for teams. I believe Smith Jr total contract is way less than Rudolph 2019. If Smith shows he can play and New England remains firm, hes cut.

Filled the spots opened up by Searcy and Battle with 2 TEs.

Looks likes we are carrying 4 TEs in preparation for Olsen to walk next season or have recurring issues with the foot (a big issue for big dudes like him)

Manhertz's blocking ability alone damn near guarantee's his roster spot. He's also still developing (3 years in)

Dude got a 2 year 2.3 mil deal 4 months ago. 

I guess we'll have 4 TE's on the roster this season. Maybe Norv is eyeing more  2 TE sets. One thing is for certain.... we are heading into Spartanburg with alot of Tightends and Guards.

Armah can also be used in a TE role when needed.

We're looking to upgrade our #3 TE spot. We aren't about to take on a guy with a $7.25M base salary this year to do that. That would be beyond idiotic.
