You're crazy. Adjust the color settings/edit this to Panthers uniforms and a lot of these plays mirror Smitty's highlights.

From the mannerisms, to the hands, to the YAC.

No, he isn't Smitty or on Smitty's level. But he's the closest thing to a mirror of Smitty that the league has ever seen.

You cant possibly be serious

I'd say Golden Tate is more similar to Smitty than Baldwin, but I dont think your comparison it is some egregious claim either

100% serious.

Present a better comparison to Smitty.

I'm not arguing that Baldwin = Smitty.

I'm arguing that he's the closest thing to Smitty since Smitty.

He was undrafted. Smitty was drafted criminally late.

He is similar in size. He is an excellent route runner with excellent hands. He's quick, and has been criminally underrated and underused in his time in the league.

AB is probably the closest mirror from just being a great WR. But AB doesn't have the mechanics/mannerisms Smitty has on the field like Baldwin does.

Tate's center of gravity is higher and his shoulders are more narrow. But I can see Smitty's influence and legacy on players like Tate too.

Baldwin is build most similar to Smitty and moved most similar to him. I really can't think of another comparable player in that aspect.

Tate is more smith lite than baldwin, but let’s be real, not even being a homer, D.J. moore showed more flashes of smith than I’ve seen from either Tate or Baldwin last year.

Thats going to be the closest comparison to smith, hell ab has similar game to smith except the physicality.

It's not a knock on Baldwin but he is no where near Smith. He never played with the kind of violence and explosion that Smith played with every week. Lets not even get into how much faster prime Smith was. There really hasn't ever been a player like Steve Smith so it is really hard to find a comparable player. I think that will be a major reason why he will eventually get into the hall of fame. There has never been a receiver at his size who was able to do the kind of poo Steve Smith would do.

If you want to make a good Doug Baldwin comparison look no further than Derrick Mason.

Just watch Steve Smith truck guys in the open field and stiff arm guys right into the dirt. You just didn't see Baldwin do those kinds of things.
