Notice the way the Eagles got Desean Jackson the ball?

How many times do we have to say it? Look at how many birds you kill with this one rock.

Get Smitty the ball. Make the D adjust. Take pressure off Jake. Take the corners and some LB's away from the middle to cheat. Opens up the running game.

Looks better on ESPN than 6yd out patterns when it's 3rd and 7.

When watching the game last night, I couldn't help but think of how much Jackson reminds me of Smitty when he was young. Like Smith, Jackson came into the league as an explosive returner who was also a threat to score at the receiver position. I don't know if Jackson has Smith's toughness and tenacity, but I think he's perhaps the player most like Smith when he came into the league.

Here lately, Jake's INT's have been intended for TE's, cept for the one smitty let go off his hand.
there was one throw to barnidge that ended up as a INT. the vast majority of INTs this year have been forced to smitty and moose, mainly smith.

the recipe that worked in the past doesn't work anymore.

feeding/forcing smith the ball isn't the answer anymore.

time to move on. it doesn't work.

I think we need Smitty to show us once again that he is a playmaker. He hasn't exactly been battling for the balls thrown to him. He roars and cheers after a 15-yarder like it was one his old-style patented 55 yarder touchdown with four guys draped over him in a hail of bullets.

Smitty is a superhero. But I believe its time for Clark Kent to find a phonebooth somewhere and take the danged glasses off.

teams can't focus on Jackson like they do Smith....unfair comparison. Eagles don't run sets w/ just Jackson and a bunch of TEs over and over. They have other threats and McNabb likes to use them all in the passing game.

they ran that long play for a TD pass a few plays prior....McNabb didn't even glance in Jackson's direction b/c of other recieving threats were on the field.

I was thinking the same thing.

Smitty has lost of step. That one pass he caught from Jake this Sunday, towards the end, would have been a touchdown - had the Steve of old had the ball with his great cut-away speed!!!

I don't understand this, wait til 2011 crap. haha Smith may not be around after this year.

    • This is true. I think guys like TD, Luke, Jake, Gross, Trey Boston all have been positive and hopeful about Panther moves since they retired or left the team. They'll give their opinion about things but arent overly critical. Steve Smith has been critical but since becoming a media guy he's become more neutral, and since being part of the panthers media team (I think?) he's been more Pro-Panthers. Cam has been honest with his takes which I appreciate, and I think being PC in the media is something that won't suit him. Therefore, it makes sense why they'd prefer to not have him around media wise.
    • I think a healthy Derrick Brown solves alot of problems with this current lineup. Losing him was huge. Remember, he usually plays every defensive snap. BTW, I think they should pull back from that. A guy that big should really be at around 70-75% snaps at most.  If they can draft a contributing rookie pass rusher or defensive tackle, and then bring in an above average pass rushing vet, I think this defense takes off - with a healthy D. Brown. Oh and lock up Horn asap. The longer they wait, the more it'll cost. Secondary is good enough - starters and depth. Inside LBs need an upgrade and/or depth injection. They aren't that far off. Injuries have hurt them a ton.
    • Who mentioned Sanders or Ward?   You seem off your rocker about not drafting either QB.   I'm just telling you this franchise isn't going to win games until we find a franchise QB. Its really just a fact.
