Rucker played 9 seasons, missing but 5 games and had 55.5 sacks (6.16 per season) and is #3 all time for the Panthers.

Johnson played 11 seasons, missing 33 games 67.5 sacks (6.13 per season) and is #2 all time for the Panthers.

You take one, you should take the other.

CJ had much higher per game production in his prime. I'm not going to hold his final years 2-3 years against him because honestly he shouldn't have been on the roster anyway. CJ had five consecutive seasons of high level NFL DE production. Rucker had three.

IMO, CJ would be a worthy addition but I draw the line somewhere between him and Rucker.

The next group of four that should get the honor should be Luke, Cam, Greg and TD in my opinion.  After Pep gets in or course.

Putting in guys like Rucker and CJ waters it down too much in my opinion.  Love both players, but neither name would ring much of a bell outside of the Carolinas

I think they had to put Walls in there just to acknowledge someone from our early history. Same kinda goes for Jake. Just an overall lack of options in those early years.

CJ is second in franchise history in sacks.

Honestly, a big part of this is simply playing for the Panthers. We aren't the Pats or the Steelers contending for a Super Bowl year in and year out and we aren't the Cowboys getting hyped every single year. You have to be a potential HOF caliber player to be a household name as a Panthers and that's just the honest truth.

Mike Rucker, to me, is an iconic member of the 2003 team. He also is an iconic member of the time period in Panthers history because of his visibility for a Defensive player.

Charles Johnson had one decent season and strung together some spectacularly unspectacular consistent seasons but he was never someone you were going to miss.

CJ had more than one decent season.

Walls was a 5x pro bowler and 4x all pro while on the panthers, that was not a pity induction.

I don't think some people here understand what an all pro nod means, all pro 1st team means you were the best at your position that season.
