Hall of Honor criteria

Lol if people are shocked by Jake Delhomme making the Hall of Honor than they just haven’t been paying attention. If you don’t think Jake is a panther great than you just started following the team when Cam was drafted. This guy was took this team to their first ever Super Bowl. He led them to another NFC Championship game. He won 4 road playoff games which is no easy accomplishment.

Jake Delhomme was a Pro Bowl quarterback. He was the QB who helped Muhsin Muhammad get his big contract with Chicago. He was the QB to Steve Smith’s triple crown. If you don’t think Jake Delhomme deserves to be in the Hall of Honor, then you must want the HOH to consist of 3-5 players.

Also, yes, the Patriots honor gritty players. Their Hall of Fame consists of the likes of Drew Bledsoe, Steve Grogan, Vito Parilli, and Kevin Faulk.

If the second best QB in franchise isn’t worth celebrating, then let’s just nix this entire thing and only retire 89 and 90.

So from now on the criteria to make the panthers hall of honor is to make a pro bowl and have a few good seasons?

im okay with jake being the exception because he led us to our first super bowl...but that should be the only exception.

Super bowl aside, there is no reason to honor players of jakes caliber.

It may be unthinkable to some, but I wouldn't even necessarily put Cam in at this point, so...

For me there are only a few:

Pep, 89, Luke, Olsen, Walls, Gross, and maybe TD. That's it!

No, this is unthinkable to everyone besides you. Cam changed this franchise and elevated it to status it has never been seen before. Wesley walls himself would tell you he doesn’t deserve to be in over Cam. Jordan gross would tell you the same thing. Insane opinion.

As "insane" as thinking Delhomme deserves the honor before Smitty.

It's not insane to have higher standards pertaining to honors. Since Walls and Gross are men of character and class, I wouldn't  expect anything less. They played at a high level across their careers with no dropoffs, so get off your high horse.

For a franchise that has always strived to have strong defenses. They didn't name a single defensive player.

Technically, Sam Mills was the first in the HoH.

Greene is already a HoF'er so that's only a matter of time.  Same for Pep.  I'm pretty sure Gamble and TD will go in at some point soon too.  Minter and Rucker are also possibilities.

Cam is a league MVP (never had one in franchise history before), multi-record holder for stats in LEAGUE history, and is a lock for the HOF when he retires...  lol if he retired three years ago, he would be in.

do the patriots honor gritty players like jake delhomme?

I always viewed Jake as our version of Ron Jaworski.  Philly loves Ron like he is their Terry Bradshaw.  Why?  Bc he was at the helm during their most successful run for years, probably until Cunningham and then McNabb.  I actually think Jake, as a player, was an even better caliber player than Jaws.  But, just for comparison sake, there are similarities in why they are loved by the fanbase and franchise...  it wasn't just grit.  He won games, he led us to a superbowl that had it not been for the Pats already knowing our new defensive calls, and then Kasay kicking the ball out if bounds, we likely would've won.  He led us to another NFCCG.  Multi-playoff game winner.  Pro Bowler.  And he often carried us to wins that shouldn't have happened.  He made the players around him better.  He deserves it, no question.

I never said Delhomme deserved to be in before Smitty. I was pointing out that Smith didn’t make Delhommes career as you stated since he had his most passing yards and touchdowns in a year Smith broke his leg week 1.

also, saying cam shouldn’t be in is as insane as the person saying Delhomme should be honored before Smith. Also are you implying cam is not a man of character and class. Because if that is what you are saying than your opinions make way more sense.

Greene is a weird one for me.  He is a GOAT.  I mean he dominated here but largely his career was elsewhere.  3 years enough?
