Carolina Hurricanes vs Boston Bruins ECF Game 1. 5/9 8pm

That being said, Boston got here because of power plays and they will continue to succeed on power plays. The Canes got 3 stupid penalties in the 3rd last night which cost them the game. They easily dominated Boston for 40 combined minutes. Hamilton and Ferland both need to settle down. As much as I would like to see Marchand and Kuraly on their back in the middle of the ice, the thing is, Boston has been getting calls all year long. Don't know why, but the refs have let them get away with manhandling opponents all season when they get behind.  

Like every Boston team they have to,cheat to win.

The only penalty called on us in the third that was a penalty was Staal’s dumb board. The Dougie penalties were horrible calls. Missed Svech getting interfered with clear as day before they scored the ultimate winner. And Ferland’s penalty earlier was also a terrible call. Hurricanes didn’t play very well and they lost but officiating was a joke.

Well, that sucked. Officials sucked. Unfortunately for us, their PP is pretty good.  Sure there were missed calls on both sides but zapping the momentum like that at the beginning of the 3rd is a real ball buster.  Rask stood on his head a few times and we wiffed on a couple.  Overall, reminds me of the Caps first couple of games. We played our game for a majority of the time.

I wasn't too thrilled with the thread being made by someone that didn't make the first two round threads. That was when I started feeling not so good about last night. Plus, the massive amount of rest, plus Boston being the "ratings boost" the NHL might want. Plus, Mrazek having 11 days off. 

All that considered, I had the Bruins winning this series 4-1. Just didn't feel good about anything with this series, honestly. I'll make the Game 2 thread. Hopefully that pleases the Hockey Gods and we get a W, somehow, someway. I hope the Hockey Gods are not done with us.

Until we lose at home once this playoffs, I don’t think it’s happening. This series definitely goes at least 6, hopefully we can take one or two on the road.

this team has an excellent ability to move on.  down 2-0 to the caps, and 2-0 in game 3, the didn't flinch.  They looked like the better team in game 1 vs Boston, I expect them to bounce right back in game 2.  They still have a very good chance to go home 1-1.

Sadly I'll be flying Sunday during game time so I'll be missing the game entirely unless there's a big layover in Atlanta.

we were dominating the game until my dad got up to go to bed. as soon as he left, the wheels fell off. he’s in his 80s, and the weekday games go a little late for him. fortunately, game 2 is in the afternoon.
