To those who think Cam is just eating steak and planning movies....

See this is how rational discussions work. You say something. I specifically question the validity of what you say. You then respond with information (let's say an article) that proves the veracity of what you originally said.

You didn't do that. Now, you roll your eyes and what...dismiss my criticism of you because...why? You're proving my point...buddy.

i can't help you man.  if you think all that went on at the place he rented and he didn't participate, yet was ok with it all, trying to keep the maid from reporting, i can't do anything for you.  its not rational to assume he wasn't involved.  you gonna walk around sober and let that stuff happen?

why would you do that.  if he didn't get wasted i'm even more disappointed.  it means his desire to be popular is beyond rational and into comical.    assuming he was participating is less bad to me than to think he wasn't

Arguing out of good faith isn't difficult. But you made a declarative statement about something you later admitted was an assumption. I called you on it and you don't know how to respond except to start making dime store psychoanalysis of someone you've never met. It now has nothing to do with the what the discussion was about and now is 100% about you having a discussion in bad faith. Or, in other words, you making things up out of whole cloth and then telling people they are in their "fe fe's" when they call you on it. You are bad at this internet discussion thing. And you should feel bad. :)

does eating steak and planning movies make one a bad person?

Apparently so. I didn't realize we have advanced so much as a society that those are now the deplorable traits in a human being.

Also, what the hell is "planning movies?"

What would I like to see from Cam Newton?

To focus on football and stop trying to be a walking advertisement for himself.  He just doesn't seem to understand that the biggest way to promote himself is to do what got him here.  Or, maybe he doesn't even believe in his football ability anymore.  I don't know.   But, this video only shows me he's trying to be this personality.  And, the NFL isn't a TV show.  It's a sport that takes skill, focus, and determination.

I know what you're getting at.... but without TV, there is literally no NFL.

Last year, Cam (with his footwork issues) was on track to have one of his highest years of productivity. He DID have a career-high pass percentage - 67%.9, which is 6% higher than his previous career high. (Which is insane.)

Injuries are apart of the game. And what Cam needs is time to heal and not be rushed back. Making a video or not making a video has nothing to do with the time it takes to heal from shoulder surgery.

I don't understand why people get so upset with Cam being a personal brand. It's incredibly smart financially. These guys don't play football forever, so it's wise to diversify your portfolio. So far, none of Cam's branding efforts have done anything to hurt the Carolina Panthers. In fact, many would say that he's helped the Panthers. He's been the face of the franchise... and He's a good face. Football is a business. TV is a business. Clothing is a business. Cams getting in all of it.

Nobody said that Christian McCaffrey needed to be focusing on gaining weight when he shows up in ESPN interviews. Nobody says that Greg Olsen needs to make sure that he's healed up while he's pursuing his broadcasting career on the side. Cam Newton takes more hits than any QB in NFL history, he should be doing everything he can to make sure his next job is solid.

Note: The wisest NFL players are involved in something on the side. Some of them are just more well known. In 1961 a Baltimore Colts wide receiver invested in a little burger joint called Hardees. His investment made him the kind of money that allowed him to bring a Football team to the Carolinas.

its interesting that you felt that people thought this way of Cam.... especially with it being well know he has gone vegan. Considering he has been pescatarian for the 5 years prior....

Clearly from the response in this thread if you reading people seem to think cam is more interested being a entertainer than football player. People do feel that way. Pescatarian? Most people don’t even know what that is. Please don’t assume everyone knows what you know and are as hip to the same information as you are.

    • i felt good for those few games that bryce didn't look like the worst in the league. all that fell apart again sunday.  i'm borderline just bailing on it all. i've been hanging on by a thin thread for several years. i mean it's not even fun to watch any football right now.
