Moton at RT?

I really think that Moton performed so outstandingly at RT that it would be foolish to move him away from that spot. Williams, for his services here before the injury does deserve a shot to start on the line. Perhaps LG might be the best spot for him to help bring the rookie LT up to speed and to make best use of Williams' lateral movement (if that hasn't been hurt by the knee).

You don't just let Williams' experience walk or sit on the bench without getting him back in the trenches and seeing what he has. Wouldn't it be great if he could transfer to guard and find an even better opportunity there?

I'm feeling a lot more optimistic about our line's capabilities than I was last year at this time, and that was at a point where everyone was healthy.

The factt hat they did not move him to LT last year should have been all you needed to know about Moton's chances to play LT now---he is a good RT---he needs to stay there. Williams and Little will fight for the LT job--I give Little an 88% chance of securing that gig.  Williams to LG?  Not so fast, but I see it.

They have to come up with an initial plan but until we go through the process,  it's all a guess...

Of course, but it’s the offseason and not much going on now, I figured we could speculate and discuss our opinions on where we think he’s best fit. I doubt he will be LT with Little, I’m all for him being LG. That would be a solid OL starting out.

This is where im really curious whats going to happen

Williams is on a 1 year prove it deal.  So he will want to play OT and prove himself for the big contract next summer.  There are also rumors that he does Not want to play OG.

Secondly, Moton is our Future.  And its not good to continuously move the young kid around.  It Can hamper his growth.  The kid played LG, LT, RT all last year in his second year.  To have him at LG this year in year 3 despite wanting him to be the future RT (which he was a stud at), is really not good at all when your wanting him to grow.

I wonder if the Daley pick was for a G or a foreboding sign for Williams?  I would hold onto Williams through camp and trade him if Daley steps up.  Might get a sixth rounder for Williams---premature, I know, but that is one approach.

This Daley is just depth that can play OT and OG

Kind of like a guy on our staff who was from South Carolina, Travelle Wharton.  In Marty's post draft presser, he said Wharton really likes this kid and pushed Marty for him as well

Interesting. Daley seems like the kind of late round OT pick that sticks on the roster after hearing what Wharton said about him. Panthers finally have some decent tackle depth for the first time in what seems like franchise history.

To me this is how I see it,

Little / Moton / Paradis / Turner / Williams

Considering the pulling we ask of our G's and Moton being the more athletic choice I think it makes a lot of sense to move him inside.

However I also see the logic in keeping Moton outside, and moving Williams inside as well, but 6'6'' / 335 lbs (Willams) says RT, he was also stoning DeMarcus Lawrence all of Week 1 til Lawrence (INTENTIONALLY) put the crown of his helmet into the side of Williams' keen while down on all 4's.

To those that don't think Moton can play LT you're crazy, he looked damn good there vs NE PS Wk 3, and Wk 1 vs Dallas. he moved to the RT because 1) Williams' injury, and 2) Clark came in off the couch and LT was his career position.

Should be a good camp for the OL comp, but at 6M Williams will be a starter just depends where.
