Yeah, people are upset with the guy who drafted him.... That's perfectly logical given the topic. If this were a thread about Everette Brown I would expect a lot of negative posts directed towards Hurney and would find it weird if someone brought Gettleman into the discussion. I have a hard time understanding why there are certain posters who rush in defense of our former GM anytime they feel he is being slighted.

Hurney’s 2009-2011 drafts were terrible outside of Hardy and Cam.  And Munnerlyn was good for a 7th rounder.

Correct. There was no telling how long the lockout was going to be, so JR preferred Hurney to be super cheapo.

His trade for Philly's 08' 1st round pick (Jeff Otah), his unsuccessful '09 - '12 drafts (except for J-No & Hardy) & spending way too much on players were his main issues.
