Dan Morgan on Matt Moore

I often respond to people who think they know how to fix the Panthers with a statement to the effeect, "People who actually get paid to make these decisions think differently. Why would that be?" I usually get a "Because they're stubborn, stupid, have a small penis" type answer.

This really explains the Matt Moore/Jake Delhomme decision if it's true. I guess it's not just about people who are smarter, it's about people who are better informed as well.

The hell with you CJ, Matt Moore is my hero!

:D

Maybe Morgan was quoted wrong. If not I'd like to know who told him this. I don't believe anyone on the team would tell an outside source this info even if it was true. If this is what Morgan said, this is pretty bad on his part. It was probably a misunderstanding. I dont believe Moore doesn't know the playbook after being here for 3 years. I mean even opposing defenses know our playbook.

Alright, I'll take it a step further............

If this is "well informed people" in the organization, or around it....then WHY O WHY....have we not addressed the QB situation, and went for fricking Feeley, and Garcia is still out there? Why have we not addressed the QB situation at all then if that is the case?

Inquiry minds wanna know...and I'm one of them.

rep....Totally agree

That's true, but if Fox didn't think Moore is capable of starting in this league (and if he can't learn a playbook in three years' time, that's a pretty good indication), then why keep him around?

The obvious rebuttal to that is that we had Luke McCown in place before he got injured, and that few teams have quality depth at the third quarterback position. Be that as it may, you know you've got an older quarterback coming off of one of the worst games in his career: the onus of having a quality starter at the most important position on the offensive side of the ball always falls on the head coach and front office.

We were cash-strapped after franchising Peppers, and there weren't many options this year. But I'm sure there were in years' past. The front office has ignored the quarterback position since Delhomme was named the starter, and it is now coming back to bite them. Who cares if they didn't have any options this year?

pretty much what he said, really...maybe not word for word but the gist was Moore didn't know the playbook. Could be that Morgan is wrong of course, but he's not on the team anymore and can't get fired for speaking his mind, or telling the truth. :D

I don't know of any skill player on any other team that is said to not know their teams playbook. The panthers however now are rumored to have 2 players (Jarrett and Moore), perhaps there is a playbook problem with the panthers if that wasn't already obvious.

He doesn't need the whole playbook. He just needs to not be a liability, hand it off, and make plays when they are given.....

Dan Morgan is a Fox and Jake guy......I seriously doubt Feely knows more of the playbook.

Morgan did say that with what Fox said during his press conferenece, he is going to start someone else this week. I have lost hope in Jake, but I have very little faith in Feely. I thought Moore has looked OK in what little we have seen but if he doesn't know the playbook by now then he is a waste.

He's on WFNZ and they asked his opinion a) if Fox would change QBs (yes), and then B) who would he start...Dan said that he has heard Moore doesn't know the playbook worth a damn and that Feely would be the starter, if it was up to him. He went on to say that he could be wrong about Moore but these are the things he hears from players. FWIW.

he only needs to know the running plays and a dozen or so passing plays from 3rd and 5 to 3rd and 20. anything shorter than 5 should be a run play. half the time at 3rd and 20 we run draws anyway.

hell, with 2 seasons under my belt i could go in and hand the ball off.
