Really?? Because I know alot of those ppl shut down Downtown Charlotte for the allstar game and events.. Parties every where stars every where.. NHL isn't doing that in Raleigh.. The Triangle doesn't have infrastructure to host anything like that..

NHL All Star game was in Raleigh not too long ago. They don't have it in the same city every year.

Get back with me the next time Hornets play on national tv on a Sunday.

I'm pretty sure the Bobcats aren't going to be playing on national TV ever again, or local TV for that matter, or... anywhere.

That is pretty close to the dumbest argument I have ever heard. All-Star games showcase the city, not the fuging local team. Hell, probably the majority of those "stars" you are talking about probably didn't even know Charlotte had an NBA team.

Really?? So no former Hornets players were spot lighted or flown in for the event??  So I didn't see Dell and Glenn Rice doing a 3 point challenge.. Or Zo judging the Dunk contest..

What a massive fail. Wow trying so hard to make the shitty Hornets more relvant than the Hurricanes. SORRY BRO, The Hurricanes are more relevant than the Hornets. Simple as that. Stats, and winning says so.

It's Wow, it's expected at this point that he would start "digging deep." To try to win, when he's failed constantly on here.

When I’m home in Winston, i don’t hear anyone speaking of the canes. I’ve probably never seen anyone wearing Canes gear, yet I see Panthers and Hornets gear all over Hanes or 4 Seasons mall.

From my eyes in the Piedmont, I just don’t see much Canes visibility

Live in Durham, seen a ton of Canes gear here in the Piedmont and especially Raleigh. The wife and I go to Chapel Hill, see Canes gear and people rooting on the Canes. Go to Cary, saw a Canes hat. Barely EVER see any Hornets gear being worn.

There are more visible Canes fans and very few Hornets fans in Raleigh, this is true. There are way more visible Hornets fans in the Charlotte area than Canes fans. This is also true. Local teams and all. Raleigh is also a pretty big hockey city, with there being three major universities in a city of a Stanley Cup Champion team and a ton of transplant northerners and Canadians due to the colleges. Multiple rinks, hockey leagues, it's honestly impressive.

On the same foot, you have WAY more non-Panther NFL fans in the eastern portion of the state. You'll see some in the Charlotte area too, but the disparity is greater on the east. I have not seen a Pittsburgh Steelers themed bar in the Charlotte area, but I have seen one in the eastern part of the state for instance.

Point being, geography will influence team support. Tons of Panthers fans were fans of other teams before relocating to the Charlotte area or the Carolinas in general. They then take up being a fan on the local team. It's really that simple.

Everybody needs to give hockey a chance though. Great sport, real easy to grasp the rules and general flow of a game if you just sit and watch one game. May still have questions, but those can usually be answered pretty quickly. Show up to the game 3 thread tomorrow and find out
