maybe gettleman should sign post-cardinals game jake delhomme for 42 million. then davethepanther would be singing his praises...

Who needs hypotheticals when he already threw away 50 million and our salary cap for Matt Kalil?

Jonathan stewart doesn’t have any known character flaws. He is a mature adult. Beason is the only one I can think of that doesn’t either and Gettleman did him a favor by trading instead of cutting.

What was Jordan Gross, Landon Collins,  Greg Olsen, and Thomas Davis character "flaws"? Since they've all had difficulty with his negotiation tactics..

Let's see how this New York things plays out.. Now he has to build a team from scratch that he tore down..

i'll bet he's gonna keep tearing.  i think he has to for his weird ego.  never seen a guy have to flex so much on nfl players.  seems really stupid too, because he'd get his ass whooped if he wasn't in the position he's in.  if he was some regular person i don't think he'd be flexing on giant men.   but, we will see.   i don't have a burning desire for him to fail.  he's not with the falcons, bucs, or saints, or pats.

There is, nor was there, any valid defense of pulling the tag off of Norman and immediately making a huge hole in the process. Now you are shopping hungry, as Dave Gettleman so often called drafting solely out of need.

Almost every defense I have seen uses not paying Norman long term big money as justification. Which is not a true characterization of the situation. Whether out of ignorance or willful misrepresentation of the facts, who knows, but it does not fly.

It really appears to have been ego driven. And it really set us back.

norman never came close to his 2015 performance, and his tenure in washington is largely considered a big disappointment. ppl are just adding his perceived value on top of the team and acting like it was a bad decision on that virtue alone.

I don’t remember any of those players you listed bad mouthing Gettleman. In fact gross stated in his retirement that he thought Gettleman was doing a great job with the team.

I didn’t agree with every move DG made, specifically pulling the tag from Norman. And signing MK, even though I know why he did it. But it was always the players with massive character issues being the most vocal about it.

I do.. I remember Gross retirement press conferences having a underline jabs at Gman.. And Olsen and TD negotiation were getting to a point where they weren't going to show up to camp.. So we have a different view of the situation..

Beason nor Norman had character flaws..

Funny Part is the person he put the highest tag on was the player who did have character flaws.. That didn't work out well..

I heard the press conference, those "jabs" were mostly in people's imagination, ie people hearing what they wanted to hear instead of listening to what was actually said.  Gross did say that he didn't like Gettleman much at first, but came to like him more later.

3 division titles.

Playoffs 4 of 5 seasons.

(franchise has 8 playoff appearances total in 24 years, Getty produced 50% of them in a 5-year time-frame)

res ipsa loquitur

Amazing what a team can do with a franchise QB.  Thanks Marty

Your opinion.. I think Gross is just a really nice guy not looking for confrontation.. So he just moved on.. But he has said a few times since then  that he had a few more years in him to make a run at a title..

Which probably would have been better than putting Cam on the field with "left feet" Byron Bell and a DT turn RT protecting him..
