That's a knock I've consistently heard. He fights til the bitter end to try to make a play out of nothing. It's a bad habit, but I like a gunslinger attitude. A good OC or QB coach can train him out of it. Can't train spirit though.

In other words he is not a Cam replacement, just a backup until we find out if Cam is done. That's when he will draft the real replacement.

Did you watch Taylor Heinicke play last year?

If so, why would you wanna see it again?

As to Allen, he played one game and under basically preseason conditions. That earns you a chance to compete for the backup job, not the job itself.

People are talking about Allen like he's already Cam's successor. Maybe he can be, but at this point he's not even guaranteed to make the roster.

Bill Belichick drafted Ryan fuging Mallett in the 3rd Round of the draft while having Tom Brady in the prime of his career. 

Belichick also routinely has 3-4 extra picks a year to work with.

Lead us to the playoffs and do what? Have us picking in the middle of the damn draft again like this year? Screwing up chances at getting blue chip talent. You do know the colts FULLY committed to tanking once they shelved luck to get good draft picks right? Hurney and Rivera are not doing that cuz of job security. Colts draft picks honestly paid off more than Luck coming back himself, top offensive line and good talent on D. If anything he cost them that playoff game cuz of how shitty he played.

Kyle Allen is an undrafted free agent.  Putting up 1 good game when teams don't have any tape to properly prepare to defend you is not a rare thing.  

Grier has the tools necessary to be a starting QB in the NFL.  

If you guys are really happy about having Allen as the backup, you must just be a fan of getting the #1 pick in the draft.  Yikes!
