Second round Panther chatter on NFL Network

If you only want a project for the future, that's okay.

If you want a guy that has any potential whatsoever to be a backup this year though, that's waiting too long.

Let's be real, most teams grab a Fitzpatrick type guy if poo goes downhill fast with an injury. If Cam goes down we're pretty hosed regardless of if we have any of the remaining QB's. Not a great class, Lock is "meh" against good competition and Grier is a project regardless of the round you take him. Let's build to help Cam succeed; if his time comes at least we've built a foundation for a different QB to succeed. Our OL needs to become at least "okay".

You have to wonder if these guys have inside info and simply refrain from making direct statements.  I just heard Baldinger (I think) say, "The Panthers are going to move up for someone they want...Let's just say it is for someone who uses his hands for a living."

I think we are going to draft a blacksmith.    Seriously?  OL makes more sense than WR.

Panthers moving up to grab someone high in the 2nd round?

I mean what could go wrong? We might find our next Jimmy or Everette.

OL please. Don't give a damn about a QB until round 4 or so. We have so many pressing needs it's not even funny.

I'm not advocating for this....

but if you want to use a 2nd round pick on a QB? Best bang for your buck is to try to trade it to Arizona for the top 10 pick in the last draft.  Rosen.

Need someone mobile. Scrambling is a prerequisite for this team.

If we could get Rosen for one of our 3rds I would do it in a hearbeat. Now that AZ has their guy and 1st round has passed they don't have nearly as much leverage. I think someone will end up giving them a 2nd for him however.

actually, we did not move up for JC--he tried, reportedly.  That was his "excuse" for splurging in the next round and trading up for Armanti Edwards.  Either way---your point is made.

We have a coach and GM who don't have absolute job security. If they take that approach, they're gambling their jobs.
