He was kind of a disappointment because he got everyone all excited by not being washed up (which a lot of us thought after watching him at Tenn). But right after signing a big extension, he got injured and had to retire.

Its pretty amazing how quickly we fell off the map after the 2015 season.

Not signing Norman had a domino affect. Suddenly we had a gaping hole in our defense, Gettleman panicked and had a historically shitty draft with Bradberry being the only serviceable player only 3 years later.

Then we mostly focused on offense high in the 2017 and 2018 drafts. So is it really surprising  our defense was slow and old last season?

Josh Norman has probably been laughing at our secondary problems for 3 years strait.

I'll start with hiring a reporter to be your GM.

Continuing to trot our the John Fox's and Ron Rivera's of the world for well over a decade.

Re-Hiring the once fired GM vs. bringing in a legitimate football guy like John Dorsey.

 

We can also talk about not taking advantage of Cam Newton's rookie contract (see owner/GM again).

Amini over a legit T in Glenn, Rae, re-signing Olsen, signing Jake to an extension, man...I could go on and on.

Honestly, if I could change something in the Panthers past, I'd go back to the beginning.

Jerry Richardson originally wanted Joe Gibbs to run the team in a "full power" role like Tom Coughlin had with the Jaguars. Gibbs turned him down. If I could go back and convince Gibbs to take the job, I think that would significantly alter our team history.

And while I'm at it, I'd like to go back and convince Sam Mills to see a doctor much earlier than he did.

Oh, let's cry about releasing Steve Smith and drafting Vernon Butler instead of taking a very realistic scenario of not trading a 1st for Everette Brown and getting Thomas, Sanders and Griffen since we drafted 3 WRs in 2010.

I'm thinking that maybe we would have gotten a SB win in 2015 and heck, maybe 2013 as well. If you are going to go back in time, let's pick the catastrophic Brown trade and see it for the true impact it had.

Or hell, go back to 2015 and tell Ron Rivera "Hey, you may want to think about changing up the game plan a little".

Has nobody brought that up before now? That's a surprise.
