What a thrilling victory. The canes were all over them in overtime. Time and Time again we got turned away. Then we almost lose in that power play only to break through late in the second overtime.  That breaks the 10 year drought.

The way we dominated OT without scoring I completely expected them to just get once chance and just like that bury us but we finished it off. Amazing.

Someone explain “icing” to me. Thx. Other than that, whooo Carolina Whalers!!

Icing is a penalty to discourage the defense from just throwing the puck down the other end in desperation. They have to pass it with purpose instead of “chucking” it.

Happens when a player hits the puck from one side of the center red line and it goes down past the goal line untouched. Mainly a safety thing to prevent players at full speed from going head first into the boards.

Canes finally took a playoff game on the road. They'll be tired Friday, but they know they can do it now. We went 1-2-1 against NYI in the regular season vs 0-4 against the Caps. And all NYI games were before the Canes turned into a good hockey team on Jan 1. This is doable! Also, go Columbus Blue Jackets!

Credit to Rod Brind'Amour. Hell of a coach.

It cannot be stated enough. This team is only as tight and hard working because of the love they have for him and that exists because of the love he has for them.

Rod deserves all the praise for the work done to take a team from 28th to playoffs in 3 and a half months. Unreal.
