Please elaborate on this remark, and don't hold back.

Actually in my initial post I didn't need to, I highlighted you specifically (deep seeded insecurities,  consumed with hate) but thought I'd avoid a conflict  this early in  the morning and just comment on the general population of this board that is still fighting the good fight for Cam's rep/genuinely and sincerely doesn't know what good OL play looks like or how the collegiate level is holding the NFL hostage at the position.

Except it hasn't been in "turmoil." Teams deal with roster turnover on the OL all the time, and the unit we fielded last season gave up like the 6th fewest sacks in the league and had the 10th best pass pro efficiency. They did this despite the loss of an all pro RT-that they now have back.

I actually, obviously, don't hold Cam accountable for the Panthers schematic decisions. But this lazy and often bewildered intejection of "Don't the Panthers know it sounds really intelligent to say Protect the Quarterback" is an oversimplification and ignorance of where the game as a whole has headed, and always seems to come from the same place and same demographic of posters, as the blowback in this thread now stands  as evidence to, who have unrealistic expectations of what the talent level around the QB in the teams quest to Make Cam Look Good (rather than win football games)should look like.

Im guessing you quoted me but are actually talking to the board?  I haven't said any of the things you put in that word salad up there.

Bottom line, for the last 8 years or so the line has been a question mark at best and a liability at worst.

As much as I love the idea of our defense getting back to its dominant ways, it sure would be nice to have just one season where Cam isn't avoiding a sack on every g*dd*mn dropback.  I think a stud left tackle could elevate the whole team.

I don't want to say defense is becoming a moot point, but the NFL is trying their damnest to make it a waste of time to acquire talent on the defensive side.

I'm always for bolstering the offensive line but we sllowed  6th fewest sacks last year. 11 less than 2013 with Gross.

Did you watch last year?

I firmly believe that Shula had more to do with our crappy OL play than the actual players.

One year removed from Shula, we go into a season expecting the worst OL play in our history (due to seeing how Shula runs things), and we probably had an OLine unit last year that was in the top half of the NFL.  All because, in my humble opinion, Shula is gone.

If you want to argue we need to draft an OLine for the future, because we may lose someone after this year?  Sure.  I can understand that.  But it would greatly diminish the usefulness of the rookie season of whoever we draft.

The greatest immediate impact next year is not on the OLine in the first round.  (Assuming all the EDGE guys aren't gone).  If all the round 1 quality EDGE guys are gone..then that is a different story.

I dont want Moton, Daryl Williams, or a first rounder to be riding the bench, so no

you best bet Rivera/Hurney want to be around for longer than a year. OT for this season is addressed

A passrusher than can immediately come in and apply pressure to the QB is what will have the biggest positive impact on our team.

its that simple

our two OTs are good and were drafted outside the 1st round.

100% agree.

Moton and Williams should be our day one starters.  I seriously doubt that the top 3 OTs will be available at 16.  We need a DE desperately.

Yeah, but you can't sit there and tell me you felt comfortable watching Cam in the pocket.  He runs A LOTto avoid many of those sacks.
