Our entire draft direction is contingent on Moton.

We could have escaped the Kalil  contract after 2 years, but there was the "I am finally healthy" tease.  Do they start a player because they gave him a bad contract?  Do you risk Cam's career because DG made a boo boo?  I do not buy that.

These are the questions around why I started this thread again.  This whole freakin draft is going to be predicated on this question of Moton at LT.  Because if they do not believe we will be drafted and probably reaching for a high bust potential LT at 16. And if that is the case I don’t have  have high hopes in Cams survival. The LT’s in this draft are all projects in my eyes.

To add to the "coaches are to blame" argument that is being strongly supported, think of it this way about last year:

We had a solid C--former all pro.

We had a RG--current all pro.

We had a fourth round RT who was rather highly  rated.

We had a free agent LT, a former high first rounder.

We had a second year, second rounder with the ability to play T or G.

On paper at the beginning of the season, we were solid.  However, the Matt Kalil signing (one that we all hated  at the time and still do), and the Williams injury may have been what ruined the season.

I think Moton should have gone to LT when Kalil  went down (and if they were starting him for the $$$) that would suggest an unwillingness to play  your best player.  If we made that move, we would be in much better position--the fact that they  have a roster full of veterans and do not know what their actual  needs are is ridiculous.

Remember, you attacked my comment with misguided, uninformed sarcasm.  You quickly  made it personal based on your misunderstanding of a rather common word.  And now you flaunt your Google skills to call me a name.  Next time, don't  forget to get your meds before a long weekend.

I simply pointed out that you put the question out there in an arrogant manner.  Then I quoted another post of yours and agreed with some of the logic in it. If you’re going to keep calling another grown man stupid you really shouldn’t cry victim and someone needs their meds when they say you’re being an asshole. But keep spinning it man keep on spinning

I find your angle  to be very interesting and the "chaos" in our minds is hopefully  resolved.  I agree that this is essential.  I am not pressing for a first round T--of course you go DE/Edge if that player is there--but we must have a plan B and there is a Round 2.  If I were RR, I would have used the last 2 games to get a long look at TM, instead, they just left him at RT.  I see your point about Clark, but at least during the last 2 games, you do not have Clark in your 2019 plans--play Moton at LT and move Newhouse to RT.

Why did Amini ever start over Norwell? Why did Remmers ever start over Williams? Why did Van Roten start over Larsen last season? Why were Bell/Chandler ever seen as anything even resembling a solution at OT?

The only thing that seems certain about our OL decisions is that we're gonna fug them up.

Gettleman said Bell had “left tackle” feet. I think the main thing in all these scenarios is that Ron has input into who starts.. and we all know he’s not a great judge of talent and he doesn’t like starting young guys

Your role here is not to comment on how you think I should act. I don't care if you like it or not.  I never called you stupid-I just pointed out examples that you provided when you got personal.  Go away--you have already violated the rules of this forum.

Why are they not listening to Matsko?  I know that he gets it.  I remember the Bell talk, an interview where Marty and RR were crushing on SIlatolu for his ability to throw 230 lb defensive tackles down at Fort Worth Tech Valley State Institute of Technology and Criminal Justice University (FWTVSITCJU) as if they  had found a gem. You know the rest of the story.

Marty 2.0 is doing fine, but consistency is critical.  I am of the opinion that he paid his draft picks top dollar at times to make them seem elite--for example, he overpaid Charles Godfrey, DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, and Charles Johnson top dollars when the team was something like 2-14.  Just my theory, but  I did hear MH on WFNZ say that he his draft picks are some of the highest paid players in the NFL.

At the time, Fox was a lame duck, and probably not involved in the draft process as much.  We drafted Lafell, Clausen, A. Edwards, E. Norwell that year.  I hope he has learned.  Tangent over.

I love how people on this board who do not have access to the coaches film, meeting time, etc. always say that this coaching staff makes bad personnel decisions. Yes Ron Rivera is attempting to sabotage the Carolina Panthers because they didnt draft him in the first round when he came out of Cal. Not only that, but he never wants to coach the game he loves so much ever again. Give me a break. You guys are really silly sometimes. Open up a new back of pork rinds and STFU.
