There may be a DE with a first round grade left at 16, that won't be Sweat. Too much physical talent at a premier position for 15 teams to pass on.

You point out 3-4 best edge? That point I agree with you on. Which is why I’m not high on Ferrell. But this class being historically strong at edge with so many freaks is the only reason I say go get one any way. But at 16 you are gonna miss the best tackle in Taylor and this class is weaker at that position.

I agree. There has been more than 1 mock draft that has Sweat going 16 or later. Not to say that their opinion means everything but at minimum it should make you question the notion that him lasting to 16 is completely impossible. 

Personally I think the only players with zero chance of making it to 16 are Murray, Bosa, Williams, and Allen. Beyond that, crazier things have happened.

What ‘scare?’ I thought he was diagnosed in the offseason and had scheduled, not emergency surgery. I’m sure I could have missed something back when it happened, but was it something they knew about before drafting him and/or something that cost the team more than someone miss similar time coming back from a ligament tear?

If it is a electrophysiologal rather than cardiological issue, then it should be fine.  Curtis had an ablation done for irregular heart beat condition (Think it was AV nodal reentrant tacchardia).  I have/had WPW and prior to the ablation, can say from experience that SVT spells can be bad but they are manageable.  Ablations can 100% fix them; hopefully Sweat has something along the electrophys. lines.

I really wouldnt be surprised to see ATL steal whatever DE we are hoping slips to 16, whether that be Sweat or Ferrell or Burns. One of those 3 is going to be sitting around in picks 10-16 but the question is which one and will they make it to 16.
