In Matt Kalil's defense, he had the potential to be an excellent OT in the NFL. Early career injuries just decimated his potential, though. That hip injury killed his lateral movement and he lost push. I don't think he ever fully recovered from that.

That being said, Gettleman gave him a monster contract and that has sucked the life out of our Cap Space for years when compared to his somewhat turnstile-inspired method of blocking.

I hope he recovers and gets some good years in with Houston. If not, at least he's received millions and millions of dollars for his time. If only the rest of us were so lucky, right?

Doesn't bother you a bit Kails contract fuged us for at least 3-4 years and we could have had kept Norwell or signed a very nice DE instead?

It's moves like this that hold back the Panthers and ultimately result in an inconsistent, losing team and incompetent front office. It's not infatuation it's frustration.

I'm sure each had to pass a team physical. Matt Kalil biggest problem is thinking he cannot play hurt. Every single player has some type of injury/soreness/aliment/etc, especially late in the season AND especially OLmen. He's a soft-ass modern day player.  Nfl is played with pain, some can manage and the mAtt kalils can not.

It bothered me when he was “on the team”. Bitching about it now is like complaining about a test you failed back in high school today. Yeah it sucked when it happened but has 0 relevance today and going forward. Stupid and immature.
