Are we willing to pay 35 million per year for Cam?

It's a bit premature to say either yes or no right now. To be a yes, Cam would have to come back this year and perform strengthwise at 2015 levels AND decision-making wise at 2018 levels. If he could run at 2015 level again as well, then the answer would be "Hell yes!".

The reality is, though, he might never get back to that 2015 level in arm strength and mobility. I do believe his maturity in the pocket will continue to grow, though, and if he can get back most of his arm, Cam would be worthy of a good, but not top salary contract. If $35 million is the (ludicrous) pinnacle, then $25 - $28 million would probably be fair value.

If that arm isn't back, then you start thinking about how you can use an incredible athlete differently, because it would be a shame for him to not be in this league in some manner.

Honestly, though, $35 million is insane money for a franchise. There may be some real strategy to drafting a QB in the first round every five years and let someone else pay the big bucks for the position. We haven't seen it exactly yet, but there may come a time when an elite QB may be as likely to hamstring a team as it is to put them in the Lombardi running.

If Cam stays healthy, I don't see the issue.

As for Russell Wilson, I generally don't have a problem with him, but I found the way in which he announced that he signed his new deal as tacky and tasteless. Did he REALLY have to make a video of himself and his wife in BED to tell the world about the contract? It just wasn't a good look at all.

A healthy Cam can command a lot, but Wilson is simply more accomplished. But I can see Cam getting in the 30 mil per year club if he displays decent arm strength in the coming season. Absolutely! If he can lead us to the Super Bowl while doing it, then 35 mil is certainly within reach, if not a certainty.

More accomplished? Who has better individual awards? Oh, you mean Wilson won a SB with the best D in the league, yeah he’s more accomplished all right
