So what does H2.0’s big board look like?

So I have been trying to figure out what our internal big board may look like.  Of all the big boards out there this seems to be closest to what we have been doing with our visits.  It originally seems as though we were visiting with players all over the place in regards to ranking.   This big board is from Matt Miller.  One of the guys I trust the most in this ranking mess.  Here are 11-27 in his board.

.

11. Devin Bush, LB, Michigan

12. Montez Sweat, EDGE, Mississippi State

13. Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma

14. A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss (up from No. 15)

15. Greedy Williams, CB, LSU (up from No. 16)

16. Noah Fant, TE, Iowa (up from No. 17)

17. Brian Burns, EDGE, Florida State (down from No. 14)

18. Byron Murphy, CB, Washington

19. Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

20. N'Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State (up from No. 22)

21. Garrett Bradbury, OC, NC State (up from No. 23)

22. Christian Wilkins, DL, Clemson (up from No. 24)

23. Clelin Ferrell, EDGE, Clemson (up from No. 25)

24. Taylor Rapp, S, Washington (down from No. 21)

25. Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida (down from No. 20)

26. Cody Ford, OG, Oklahoma

27. Johnathan Abram, S, Mississippi State

So as expected the 2 Edges rushers we are looking at are right around our range with Sweat at 12 and Burns at 17.   Lower than other rankings.

The interesting ones IMO are Byron Murphy and Jawaan Taylor. Other rankings had Murphy much lower, but at 17 he is right at our range.  And he is the best zone corner in this draft by far.   If they go with Murphy and move Jackson to the slot our secondary instantly becomes pretty damn good.  Something we haven’t seen forever.

Taylor on the other hand is much higher in other rankings than here. And I was scratching my head why we might be bringing in a guy we had no chance at.  But he is just a Rt.   That may be starting to catch up to him.  If our front office feels Moton can be a decent left  tackle I would love Taylor if the Edge guys are off the board.  He has the lowest bust factor of any of the tackles in the draft IMO.   He would be a stud day one and not a damn project like Dillard.

Moton, Williams, Paradis, Turner, Taylor would be a line we haven’t seen in a long time.  And needed to keep Cam healthy.

Although I would rather have Savage later, a trade down might allow us to get Abram and additional picks.  Also a good situation.

I think H2.0 has set us up pretty well so far with limited money to attack the strengths of this draft.  My last FA hope is we cut Smith and sign Bailey.

Can’t wait for draft

this one is more in tune with pretty much most prospect boards out there. Jawaan Taylor reports that he play either side and is easily going too 10. I would love for us to draft him. He will be long gone though as will Sweat.

Jawaan top 5. Burns top 5 also above Josh Allen

again just to show disparities, Jawaan 7th. Jonah 16th.

Right.  That’s what I have been seeing.  Then why in the hell bring Taylor in for a visit???? And he can say he can play both sides all day. But he never has in college.

Teams have very different boards than we do and the scrubs that print this stuff.

Hurney is also gathering scenarios to jump up stay put and drop back.

Random thoughts based on Jarrod's rankings---

I would not mind seeing Ford as the pick.  A G/T who can play 4 positions on the OL---LG this year, OT next season. Not ideal, but he is a stud and a low-risk pick.

There is sure a lot of inconsistency between these 3 sites. Players like Burns and Sweat are all over the boards.   I see some fireworks about to  go off.

What do people think of Gary and how he could fit?  I could see him  falling through the cracks.

Gary for me is about the scariest pick for 16. Yes he’s a workout monster but did absolutely squat on the field.

Lazy? Plays for the money then disappears? Can’t play football but is a great athlete?

If it’s just the third,.. great athlete that can’t play football or has no football smarts,.. that can be worked around.

the other probabilities point to lack of motor or a want to.

Would you as a GM draft that guy as 16 when you have a new owner that will hit the eject button?

im no,.. as in hell no.

At 16 sure.  If we were picking in the top 10 I would be worried.  He does have a boom or bust feeling about him.  He does have a versatility component that RR would drool over.

Ford seems to be an Otah clone but with a high mean motor,...

i would draft that guy long before a Gary. Ford and Ferrell— another high motor want to guy are great, play now with passion guys.

i couldn’t be mad at those picks— people say what they want to about Ferrell— you have to have a love of football and a want to above all else. A great athlete that is lazy or just plain football stupid is going to be worthless and a bust. Therefore Ford and Ferrell are probably the safest, although not sexy picks for 16.

You want to bring the guys who might drop. When everyone says Burns and Sweat will be long gone that means other guys will drop. You ignore guys that will not drop but Taylor isn’t Bosa, so there’s a chance he could drop.

Agreed that’s my point in this.  I believe there is a possibility he may fall to us.  if he does that probably means the Edge guys are gone.  I would be thrilled to land Taylor.

Oh I would be yatah like Hiro from Heroes. And like bubba said and I was saying with the boards not matching team boards,... of course Taylor has a much higher chance to drop than Bosa— not possible versus at least a chance.

yes if there’s a run on defensive talent it will push others down like Taylor and Jonah.

alternatively if teams choose to make a run on offense and draft the defensive depth later, that means we may get Oliver or even Sweat.
