So they probably pick another TE if anything since Olsen retires after this season.

Hogan was a deep threat in NE from time to time.

If Hockenson falls to #16, outside of Sweat or Gary shockingly still being on the baord, we'd be silly not take him.

Lol I think we will all go crazy if we take a TE at 16, and for good reason since Ian Thomas looks like he is going to be good

If BPA is the draft strategy and you have a shot at the top TE in the draft class...just saying.  Again, with the caveat of the top DEs are already gone.  Don't worry Hockenson will likely be gone, probably to the Packers.

Rivera is most likely keeping him on the bench while Olsen is playing since Manhertz apparently has god like blocking abilities in the eyes of Ron and is more important than actually having another threat on the field.

Yeah I’d throw up hahaha dude might end up being a great tight end but that’s a luxury pick

I'm not convinced of that at all, but it doesn't surprise me that it is the hope of the huddle.

I don’t feel too strongly about it either way but I think it’s probably a better decision to carry over that cap space or use it on someone else than to keep him, but it’s not like it’s a huge amount. The one thing I’ll say though is we now have 3 players who are better at what Torrey specializes in than him... There’s no rush to release him but I think it’s more likely than not we move on, especially if we get another wideout in the draft which is possible.

Eh, not really. Olsen will be gone after this year and then there is Manhertz. So really only 1 good TE left.

You’d really want one at 16 though?  This year? Late rd flyer bpa fine.  Fact is we have Olsen for one more year and we’ll get to see Thomas who got a lot of experience last year , played well even as raw as he was, got better, and now gets the full offseason as well to build on that.

To me both of those reasons put tight end towards the bottom...we seem to really like having manhertz out there as our number 2. So if we draft somebody that high we’re taking all of Thomas’ snaps this season so we won’t know what he can be. So we’d be spending our only first rd pick on someone to spell/backup  Olsen. We have that.

We’ve got 2 very capable pass catching tight ends, how many pass rushers do we have that you trust? And are you fully trusting Daryl Williams knee to hold out all season?

Not saying you reach but those are much bigger question marks. Hell I’d take a corner or a safety before a tight end and it’s not even close
