Why are people surprised at Hurney? He has always been good at FA when JR wasn't meddling. He also gave us Steven Davis, Jake Delhomme, and Ricky Proehl in one year. Allowing him to do what he does best is smart on teppers part. Even if he isn't great at the draft he has already set it up in FA.

Steussie, Mitchell, Buckner and Donnalley, maybe not all that year but at least a few.

And to be able to get these guys on one year deals is pretty impressive this year.

Don't think Chris Hogan had a good 2018 season but believe he can be an effective limited role player as a vertical threat and slant/flat route runner if you get him away from press. Here's his 2017 #ReceptionPerception route charts:

I like the Hogan signing. Low risk, good chance for a solid return.

Good move considering it gives us a veteran wr presence for pennies. That being said, for those of you clamoring to cut Torrey Smith, remember there is literally no reason to cut him until we need that money to sign someone else. So yeah, we're in better position to do so today but it's always been our best option to wait as long as possible to do so. The Hogan contract also serves as a good model for a new Torrey contract. I still think our best option would be to hang onto him until final cuts and then offer to rip us his contract for something close to vet minimum or cut him if he refuses.
