That's a useful point. I was mainly referring to the guy who said Wright is a 5th receiver which is absurd. Not sure why this signing is a seque to criticize our other quality role players

They are both good depth receivers to have.

That is the question I came here to address... I have seen no evidence he has ever been better than smith, I’m not sure he’s better than smith right now.  That’s why I see this as just a camp signing. Not saying he can’t beat out the other guys and win the job as number 3, but I’m not blind enough to assume this means anything as far as our draft plans or even 53 roster players are concerned yet. 

I think this is just hurney being a smart business man. He’s padding the roster Incase the draft doesn’t go a certain way. Just like the Bruce Irving signing.. doesn’t mean we don’t need another pass rusher, the Williams and Pradis signings, doesn’t mean we don’t need more line help. This move is in line with those. But to a lesser extent. Those guys are projected starters.. this I can’t say.

Doesn’t hurt to sign him as a #4 as long as we didn’t pay big money- which I doubt we did at this point. I certainly like it better than Torrey getting $5 mil or Funchess getting $10.
