Panther's sign Chris Hogan WR

I don't know how any objective comparison between Wright and Hogan can show any clear distinction.  Hogan started more games and with Brady and just edges Wright out stat wise. He was a trendy name a few years back who never really went beyond a serviceable receiver. Glad to have him but he and Wright are 3A and 3b type guys.

Just to recap...

  • Really good under the radar signing
  • Hurn-Dog 2.0 is potentially...amazing?
  • Now cut Torrey or tell him to take a paycut to be the veteran & community presence

Strange to not have a big body WR, but also can't argue with the shifty guys who can get open and extend plays.  Could get interesting if a guy we like fell to us in the draft.  Would be all for a big body high potential WR taking Torrey's spot.

What doesn’t show up in that stat sheet is where they play.  Wright is solely  a slot guy. Hogan has lined up everywhere for the pats.  It’s that versatility that separates them.

Hes a true depth piece that can fill the role for anyone that goes down.  Maybe not perfectly but to have a guy like that keeps gameplans versitile.

Using stats alone is a pretty lazy way to compare players, at least I can tell you have watched some games. I think this signing is a no-brainer.
