Taylor was my Number 16 pick months ago when everyone here was bashing, and I took a lot of poo for it.

hes now rarely getting out of the top 10, very small chance he gets to 16.

hes still my favorite for 16 if he’s there. Sweat, Jonah, Ferrell, Burns, are my next ones not counting a wild card like Ed Oliver making it there or something. Yes I like Ferrell better than Burns.

I am starting to warm up to Ferrell a little bit again. Not sure he fits our new scheme but is not as bad as people are portraying him.

Keep in mind that the scheme is irrelevant as Wade Phillips and Belicheck said—- it’s adjusting what you do to match the players you have to get the most out of them.

sticking to a scheme and just trying to plug in players is a losing venture— square coaches try and it works against weak teams and then gets blown up with good teams. Then it’s 7-9 and Jeff Fisher hell,..

what matters is you draft a guy that plays hard, loves football, is football smart and has at least some athleticism. Super athleticism with all of that would be a plus.

Ferrell is a ready built player with a motor and good size. Burns for me has great athleticism but he’s a 1st round project.

A smart coach can adjust and win with either. Square coaches can’t.

like i said, we needed another receiver. and we got one just now in hogan. yall so stupid

weird flex...but ok.  You called out 2 guys that aren't even on a NFL team yet (1 very small) and were advocating for tall receiver, but yeah, act like we're all @ncfanstupid just b/c we signed Hogan, haha

He did but look at the edge guys. PAC 12 isn’t well represented at the draft. Not like Risner who went 1 on 1 with Sweat. All that said, he really did bomb the Senior Bowl. He gave us a strip sack and got TE help all game. Even in practices he didn’t look good. As much as guys like Bradbury and Lindstrom shined, he looked bad. He’s the only guy I don’t want at all at 16. He looks like an athlete who can’t play tackle at the NFL level. The Senior Bowl was packed with day 1 and day 2 OL and DL talent do it was a good showing so not good to look poor.

That’s what I’m saying, can make arguments about impact and position need but Dillard and Gary are the only 2 that scare me. IF Dillard gets a lot stronger and works on his technique he has a lot of upside.  And IF Gary develops and learns how to produce on the field and not just  run fast and jump high in his underwear he has a ton of upside. If my job was on the line no way I’m spending the 16th pick on something that risky. We need someone that can play day 1

I don't know why anyone is portraying him as "bad." He is a pretty limited upside guy but he is also probably one of the safer picks in our range.

I can't say I would do backflips over drafting him at 16 but I definitely wouldn't be upset.

can Taylor play LT?  I thought he was a right tackle.  16 sounds too high for a RT, but I could live with it.

Well, if we have Taylor, Moton and Williams you figure out who is capable of being a LT. Two would be on rookie deals and one is on a one year deal, so it can definitely be changed after next season.

I hear and agree with you, especially since Ron emphasized that very thing himself (adjusting to the personnel) when he first came on board.

Unfortunately, he seemed to be full of it. :(

I know Hurney is just doing his due diligence, but Taylor should be long gone before #16.  At this point, it's looking like Dillard will be too as the only pure LT in first round.  Several solid RTs like Taylor, but a team desperate for a LT will bite on Dillard even at the expense of a slight reach.  The Bills seem high on this guy, so it wouldn't shock me if they snag Dillard.  It seems like 'Panthers North' draft to not only improve themselves, but also to screw up our draft board as well.  That does leaves us with the possibility of Jonah Williams.  This could serve a duel role.  Keep Moton at LT permanently and Williams can serve as the LG plug for this season.  I fully expect Daryl Williams to be moving on in 2020.  Then move Jonah Williams to RT (where I believe he began his Crimson Tide career) and hopefully by that time the umpteen guards we have auditioning for a reserve role this season will develop into a starter.  If not, we can draft one.  Either way, we still have our bookend OTs.
