any Panther employee that would go through 1 Columbia summer would immediately start looking for a new job.  They call it the screen door to hell for a reason.

“Famously Hot”

such a stupid slogan for a miserable span of 5 months

Hey!  Rock Hill sucks ALOT less than it used to!  (only saying this because I live there).  For real though, Rock Hill has vastly improved over the past 10 years and is committed to continuing that judging from current projects already in the works.  Yeah, it's no Charlotte, but it ain't no Gastonia either!

If I had to sum up Gastonia quickly and concisely I'd simply say, "Fred Durst is from Gastonia."

Maybe or he may be someone actually trying to make a fiscally sound decision in this day and age. It's a rarity, it might even be a unicorn event, but woudn't it be nice?

I love me some football, but I am tired of the billionaire boys clubs fleecing cities and states out of hard earned tax dollars to support businesses that make billions of dollars in profits. In a time when people have to send school supplies in to budget-strapped teachers, I'm not sure we should be helping finance Tepper's hobby investment with tax money.

Go Panthers! but y'all need to quit riding up to the corporate welfare office in your Maseratis.

A politician trying to do the right thing?

Yeah...sure.

The facility is going to be built somewhere. It's just a matter of where. This guy isn't "striking a blow against the man" by opposing it going to Rock Hill.

there are like 5 nice cities in SC

charleston

greenville

fort mill (might as well be NC)

columbia

hilton head

other than that yeah it sucks and rock hill definitely sucks, so it is dumb for us to want to move team HQ there (though I do hope it happens)

PS: i can be swayed that columbia sucks too but it has made some drastic improvements over the 10 or so years i've been here. still a stupid college town though.

/rant

All cities are $hitholes regardless of the state.

You all are trying too hard with this NC vs SC thing.

Exactly. It's not that deep. I really don't understand where this rivalry came from between some fans of both Carolina's as it pertains to the Panthers. The team represents both states and like it or not, there is no changing that fact. Why that fact upsets some fans is beyond me.

Seems like one side of the fan base is always upset about this

I wonder what some on here would consider nice NC cities..

both NC and SC have some nice beaches.   I mean, IMO that is what the Carolinas are known for.   So it really is a push there.

I think SC has the best singular overall city in Charleston.  Factoring history and everything that goes into it.  NC has more overall cities I'd rather live in.

South Carolina has the better college sports.  NC has all the professional sports.

in the end, James Taylor lumped us all together.  Because frankly, only Carolinians would bother arguing over it.

Freshman politician... they are often the only ones who try. Then they hit the brick wall.

He's probably just saying "Umm, the dude's a billionaire, employees are millionaires and just why are we giving them tax monies?"

I could argue just to argue, but this is a pretty good post.

I find the whole “NC vs SC” battle hilarious, as I’ve got family members who even get involved. My father will poke fun at my mom for having most of her fam in SC and basically being from there.

Only cities from both states I’d even consider living in are Charlotte, Greensboro, or Charleston. Maybe Winston Salem, but that’s because that’s home.
