Someone link me to where Igo stated the main forum is free range in the offseason? I see that tossed around every offseason but no one offers proof.

Back in 2015 was the last mention I heard of it. A search found that particular post by @Jeremy Igo in a now defunct Wiki section of this site and I was unable to actually open it to see the entire post. But being here for as long as I have been....I know the rules/expectations/courtesies of this forum. I am telling you, it has been said by mods and Igo himself, main forum can be used for more than Panthers related topics during the offseason. Once camp starts, things start shifting to Panthers only. Until then, we're good to have a thread about the only pro sports team in the Carolinas that actually made it to the playoffs this year in this forum to garner more potential interest. Yes, the Hornets are not eliminated from playoff contention but they need to stay hot for two big pressure games and the Canes (until now) had the longest active playoff drought in the league (9 seasons). This is big for not only hockey and Canes fans, but sports fans in the Carolinas.

Again, don't like it? Pick a different thread to go to.

Its just stupid bc some people actually post in the right place and then others just post in the main forum. Igo needs to make up his mind on where posts should be in the offseason or otherwise.

OP messaged Igo prior to thread creation.

It’s really hard to remember games for me... There have been some big ones but they all kinda got lumped together. With football having 16 games plus a few sometimes I can remember pretty much every game but 82 games blend together.

One big one (though I don’t remember any standout moments) was a huge win on the road in Nashville after we got our asses kicked by Winnipeg at home the day before (think that one was 7-1...).

Penguins shootout win where we tied it up late was a huge 2 points to get.

The most recent big game when things were really close for a playoff spot was the Toronto game a week ago where we pretty much handled our business with ease.

There’s probably others but that’s what I’ve got for now.

I think the moment everyone knew Mrazek was playing sensationally was when he made the great stops against Florida in OT...that diving poke check..

BACK TO THE TOPIC.

This team has a lot to talk about. Petr Mrazek being one of the hottest goalies in the league in the last month and a half. Andrei Svechnikov being an 18 year old wonder boy and showing signs of hitting very dangerous territory as he grows in the league (20 goals as a rookie, which puts him in the top 10% of goal scoring for the season. no easy feat, especially for a rookie).

The story of Dougie Hamilton coming to life to show that he is an elite D man in the league. The story of unsung heroes like Nino Niederreiter and Brett Pesce who people knew were good, but they've done so much to help put this team in the position they're in. The story of Justin Faulk who has had his best season after 8 seasons of playing well but on teams that could not win, and for him to FINALLY get to the playoffs while playing the best hockey of his career.

The story of the Iron Men of the team. No team in NHL history has had 10 or more players on the roster that have started in all 82 games of the regular season...until the 2018-2019 Carolina Hurricanes.

The story of Rod Brind'Amour coming here as a player, leading this team as it's Captain to a Stanley Cup, and then retiring and passing the torch to Eric Staal, and then coming back to be an assistant coach before finally being given a chance to lead this team as the head coach and in one season, putting a playoff quality product on the ice that has reinvigorated not only the players but the fans. A stadium that was tough to fill out on game days is now packed and what was called one of the loudest hockey arenas ever during the 2006 Stanley Cup run is showing signs of proving that moniker true.

The story of Justin Williams, who has been respected his entire career on every team he has been a part of, coming back to Raleigh and being given the Captain patch and then leading this team in such a way that you can tell by the way his teammates talk about him and look at him, they respect and adore that man.

The story of how the entire franchise and fan base rallied around an old, out of touch hockey reporter calling post game celebrations by Hurricanes players "poor sportsmanship" and that they were a "bunch of jerks". Taking that last part and owning it, branding it, putting it on shirts and banners and everything else that can bear the image of "Bunch of Jerks". How those celebrations endeared fans of the team and angered the opponents. How those celebrations made hockey fun for the fans like me who have suffered through season after season of disappointment and crushing defeat to finally be rewarded with contender hockey. Playoff hockey.

I could go on forever, but if you can't get behind THIS team, I don't see how you can be a sports fan.

Good luck boys dont blow a 2 0 series lead like we did

Would make things real interesting if you guys pull it out. I like Tampa and will root for them and fully expect them to win it all to be honest but if you guys won as underdogs that’s a really fun story. I think it’ll be much closer than most people assume too, 6 or 7 games.

Oh yeah that was Florida, not Philly... @Icege that’s the Mrazek OT game I was thinking of in my other post. That whole OT is a must watch.

I’d have to say another key game was a few weeks ago against the Canadians when we couldn’t seem to beat Carey Price until TVR got a goal off a deflection and Svechnikov won it in OT.

Yeah that was huge, Canadiens could very well have beat us in if they win that one in regulation which was very close to happening.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, okay. Well, it's the offseason, which means that this can happen. Did you complain when there was 85 Mocks being created? Did you complain about the Mahomes arm strength vs Josh Allen thread? Bruh, get your priorities straight. This is the only Professional Carolina team that made the Playoffs the last year. Why is this concept so difficult? If you didn't like the Thread, don't come in the mother fuger. DUHHHHHHHHHH.

Soooooo why not discuss our favorite TV shows?  The forum has a specific title.   Don't call me Bruh--that  is so dumbass.
