Any other sources of Svech's status?  I've heard cleared from local hospital from alleged "friend of family", to broken facial bone from the dude in the Cane's hat at the titty bar? Who did quote some "some other family member" I've never heard of on IG.

Not trying to start a rumor mill just putting out what I have heard and would like more info.

No idea for sure but I heard he got 4 teeth knocked out and he went to get emergency dental work done (which would be better than him seeing a neurologist...)

Initial take, god damn.  But if that is the extent (and not neurological) welcome to the NHL brother, you now have another subset of woman that find you sexually attractive (if that is a thing, should be a thing?).

Yeah that shook me up when I heard it though I have no idea whether it’s true or not. Svech is such a good kid and is a future superstar. That was absolutely brutal seeing that, only blemish in what was nearly a perfect night. Hopefully he didn’t lose any teeth, break any bones or get a concussion and those are just rumors, but it definitely didn’t look good. And RBA saying in his press conference that he didn’t look too good after the first period when he saw him and that he had left the arena by the end of the game did not inspire any confidence. We’ll have to wait to find out.

Hours after the fact and I'm still really angry about Ovi. Dude is a scumbag. And hockey fans are all "well that's playoff hockey. he asked for a fight, he got one and got KO'd". But that's not really what happened there. Svech was goaded into it after 2 games showing restraint, lightly giving back to Ovi what he was giving him. Ovi carried that into this game and Svech had enough. It's away from the play, Ovi is bumping him entirely just to get a reaction. They jaw a second or two and they go for it. He knew what Ovi wanted. Maybe it's a weird Russian next-gen thing for Ovi, seeing that Svech is the next great Russian NHL player. The guy that might take his place. Or maybe it's just Ovi recognizing that Svech is a threat in this series. Regardless, he targeted him all series and finally had an opportunity. Of course a seasoned vet of his size is going to destroy a 19 year old kid in a fight. I'm not even mad about the fight itself. I'm mad the way Ovi handled it. He knew that last blow connected solid. Let Svech go and let him drop. But no, he throws a punch as he's falling and lands with his weight on his neck/collar bone which forces Svech's head to bounce off the ice. Anybody can say what they want about him just bracing for the landing and that it wasn't malicious, but when your reputation is "absolute scum of the Earth", you don't get the benefit of the doubt from me.

Faulk or somebody better dig an elbow deep into that piece of human garbage's face Thursday. Jesus.

We just looked so much faster last night. Caps looked slow.

Also, fug em. Did typical goon poo the last period really. Hoping Svech is ok but if he can't go, we can roll with Necas. Him on the TT and Jordo line would be amazing. Would allow him to be aggressive because he knows he has center help back with staal.

The more I think about it the more convinced I am they are going to call up Patrick Brown for physicality purposes and roll with two checking lines and pray that FoeGoal keeps happening...

Nino - Aho - Turbo

Foegele - Staal - Williams

McGinn - Wallmark - Martinook

Saku - McKegg - Brown

Not the best playoff lineup but 8 guys in there who can throw their body around.

Not entirely mad about that either honestly. Patrick Brown is a solid contributor and can score. It'd essentially be replacing Ferland with slightly less-polished Ferland. I'm ok with that. Plus it gives Brown experience in a crazy atmosphere. I'm for it. Necas would still be more interesting to watch. Team wise, Brown is the better choice.

I want to see Necas as well I just don’t think they (the Canes) want Tom Wilson and the goon squad to have the ability to take another priced rookie out.

Svechnikov update!!!!

Michael Smith (Canes web producer) just tweeted that RBA stated that everything checked out in reference to the hospital examination. Likely not playing Game 4, as he is in the concussion protocol currently. May be done for the series but at least he's ok. Idk how to imbed tweets guys.

Goddamn you @MillionDollarCam

The atmosphere was amazing last night.  Loudest since we won the cup.

The fight was unfortunate @lightsout explains it perfectly.  Svech stood up to a bully and got ktfo.  It sucks but I love the fight in him, he's a kid.  Ovi knew exactly what he was doing so don't expect him to show restraint.  Svech should have tried to tie him up and just fall but he was willing to go blow for blow.  Kids got balls.  I'm not going to fight someone with 40lbs on me.  No one would sanction that fight.

I love how fighting is seen as an embarrassment to the loser.  I was taught to respect everyone and never take any poo all at the same time.  The one time you stand up for yourself you get knocked out and everyone rags on you.  Ovi's gloves came off first.  Fighting in the NHL is not necessary and our team isn't exactly built to play that game.  Caps are.  Also IDK if you could tell this on the TV but Staal was throwing his body around quite a bit.  I've never seen him that way.  The whole team was really.

IDK who gets the call up but you've got to feel good being down 2-1 in the series.  Weren't as many Caps fans there as I thought there were going to be, which is great.  Hopefully Thursday will be more of the same.
