So back to hockey....Should we go Staal or Aho in the first line? I  know Aho has the numbers this season...but Staal has been playing fantastic lately and I think he has the physical juice to compete with Ovechkin

What makes this team interesting is that they were left for dead the first half of the season....and then they made a massive comeback. Second best record in the NHL since January to make the playoffs. What's also impressive about climbing the standings is the eastern conference is  one of the best and most competitive conferences I've seen. Even the first team out would have had the 4th or 5th best record in the west.

I know @RoaringRiot and some of you guys go to Checkers games throughout the year, maybe we can get an insight on how Mr. Bean has looked.

Pumped for this round, got swept by the Caps during the season but if we roll with Mrazek with how he’s played lately, we’ve got as good of a shot as anyone. It’s the playoffs and anything can happen. Start it off on a good note with a split in Washington, and win at home and we’re golden. My x-factor player is Michael Ferland. He’s been quiet lately but the man comes alive in the playoffs. If he can neutralize Wilson in the physical game while adding offense I like our chances. Win or lose, this has been a fantastic year and there’s a lot to be excited about going forward. Very fun team. Hoping to see a couple playoff surges.

The top line has been outstanding with great chemistry, you gotta leave Aho there. And Staal and TT have been great together. I wonder if we’ll keep Ferland up with them or not, as I do think Svech played better than Ferland with them, but of course it’s risky having a barely 19 year old in that large of a role against such an experienced team.

Bean has been great, but this move is kind of curious... I’d say it’s pretty certain De Haan won’t be back any time soon which stinks, but Fleury has been really solid in his time up. Not sure if Bean will get in or not.

I dont get to take in many checkers games...but I know Bean is solid. And he has a high trade value on NHL 19...so that must be good right?

Hockey may not be your thing, but you are full of sh!t if you think it is boring. It has more action than any other sport. Compared to football, football comes out as the boring one if you had to choose which is more.

And playoff hockey is a different breed. It’s easily the fastest, most physical, non-stop action that there is in sports.

In my opinion the NHL is the only sport where you can see a significant difference between the postseason and regular season.

And a really fair playoff format. Only thing I'd probably like is best of 5 instead of 7.

I like the best of 7. You dont have to completely freak out if you drop game 1.

Bean is called up solely as insurance. No way Rod puts him in for any real minutes without another D injury. 

 

Also, keep the lines steady where they are. The chemistry is there. Svech and Williams work really well together.

Honestly why do we even have different forums? Everyone just posts their random threads wherever. Mods don’t care. Just eliminate the other forums and have everything posted here
